Thursday, Dec. 1

4:44 p.m., An officer took custody of a woman at the Montezuma Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., on a warrant for failure to comply and took her to the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Wednesday, Dec. 7

8:19 a.m., A man who had recently acquired an attorney for an irrigation issue in the 2300 block of Road M reported that an irrigation riser valve was destroyed. The damages totaled in an estimated amount of $400.

Monday, Dec. 12

10:15 a.m., A man reported that his trailer in the 24000 block of Road K.3 was broken into and had things taken from it sometime in the past two weeks. He also reported that a solar panel cable was cut and the solar panel battery was stolen.

Wednesday, Dec. 14

9:19 a.m., Ten feral dogs being fed by a man and a woman in the 10900 block of County Road 20 were surrendered into custody of the Cortez Animal Shelter, 2791 E. Main Ave.

Monday, Dec. 19

10:46 a.m., An argument between a contractor and a man in a house in the 16600 block of County Road 24 led the contractor to cancel the job and leave the house. The man followed the contractor outside and attempted to fire a shotgun at the contractor’s two co-workers outside. The shotgun appeared to jam or was not operated correctly, giving the contractor and his two co-workers time to get in their truck and leave. The homeowner was cited summons on suspicion of menacing and his weapons, a shotgun and a handgun, were seized.

Tuesday, Dec. 20

4:27 p.m. A warrant was issued for a woman who punched her girlfriend in the face several times before throwing her into the roadway in the 37000 block of U.S. Highway 160 the day before.

9:53 p.m., An officer assisted a Colorado State Trooper with a DUI investigation in the 100 block of U.S. Highway 160 by observing the trooper. The officer also assisted by taking custody of one of the passengers of the vehicle that had a warrant and transporting her to the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Wednesday, Dec. 21

10:08 a.m., An officer transferred a man from the Montezuma County Combined Court, 865 N. Park St., to the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St. The officer served the man four warrants.

Friday, Dec. 23

6:41 a.m., A man in the 100 block of North Ninth Street got into an argument with his niece that ended with him shoving her. He was issued summons on suspicion of assault.

Saturday, Dec. 24

12:26 p.m., An officer served a warrant to a man in the custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

1:48 p.m., A man on the side of the road in the 7900 block of Road G was arrested on suspicion of violating a protection order that restricts him from possessing or drinking alcohol.
