Monday, July 4

1:30 p.m.: A man was injured in a dirt bike crash in the 20100 block of Forest Road 561 near Mancos and taken by helicopter to Mercy Hospital in Durango. According to the man’s brother, he crashed his bike, then slid into a tree stump and broke his leg.

Wednesday, July 6

1:21 p.m.: The manager of the Speedway convenience store in the 500 block of Railroad Avenue in Dolores, reported that a man violated a trespass order at the store while buying beer. A deputy planned to locate the man and seek a charge of third-degree trespass.

Friday, July 8

5:50 p.m.: A man was arrested at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St. after struggling with a deputy, and taken first to the Montezuma County Detention Center, then to Southwest Memorial Hospital after blood was discovered on his face. He was treated at the hospital, then jailed on suspicion of resisting arrest.

Sunday, July 10

8:30 a.m.: A deputy investigated a report that someone removed a screen window at a residence in 23000 block of Road F.5 near Cortez and burned a “snake firework” on the porch.

Monday, July 11

12:51 p.m.: A woman reported that her child’s father assaulted her at a residence in the Cottonwood Trailer Park, 24020 Road F.5, but he could not be located. The woman declined an offer of housing at the Renew Inc. safe house.

Tuesday, July 12

4:51 p.m.: A deputy assisted a Cortez police officer in the arrest of a man suspected of DUI in the 8500 block of County Road 25.

Wednesday, July 13

10:44 p.m.: A woman was arrested in the 12700 block of Colorado Highway 145 on suspicion of harassment, domestic violence, child abuse and resisting arrest after she was observed fighting with a man in the presence of her children and pulling one child by the arm.

Saturday, July 16

7:48 a.m.: A couple who live in the 23400 block of County Road N reported that someone damaged their mailbox and pushed their trash cans into a ditch, one of them a mile down the road. Damage was an estimated $600.

Monday, July 18

8:06 a.m.: A man reported that someone broke into an outbuilding in the 3900 block of U.S. Highway 160, but a deputy found the claim was unfounded.

9:42 a.m.: A man who lives in Arkansas reported that he had been defrauded of $1,200, which he had paid for a rifle scope advertised on gunbroker.com. The seller apparently falsely used the identity of a man who lives in the 18700 block of County Road P near Lewis.

5:38 p.m.: A man who lives in the 32900 block of County Road P near Mancos reported that tools and hunting gear worth a total of $1,100 were stolen from his shed.

Friday, July 22

5:19 p.m.: A woman reported that she had backed her pickup truck into a woman’s car at a residence in the 21800 block of County Road W near Lewis. The women, who are relatives, planned to exchange insurance information. No one was cited.

Sunday, July 24

3:33 p.m.: A woman reported that someone had stolen her sister’s washer and dryer, valued at $3,500, in the 6600 block of County Road 25.

Monday, July 25

11:24 a.m.: A man was arrested on two warrants after he arrived at the scene of an investigation into a report of an abandoned car in the 14000 block of Forest Service Road 385.

Wednesday, July 27

1:49 p.m.: A report of a tool theft in the 29100 block of Road J.6 near Cortez was unsubstantiated. However, one woman trespassed a man from her property, and the woman was then trespassed by her sister.

Friday, July 29

2:20 p.m.: A manager at the IronWood mill, 27930 County Road T near Dolores, said the mill’s former CEO removed property from the site and used IronWood’s tax identification number without permission for a new company in Oregon. The deputy told the manager that the case was a civil court matter, but he would send the IRS documentation about tax ID.

Saturday, July 30

6:09 p.m.: A woman was cited for harassment in 29100 block of Road J.6 after she allegedly yelled at her aunt’s boyfriend and slapped the hat off his head and a soda from his hand. The incident seemed to be a continuation of a dispute July 27.

9 p.m.: A man was sought on suspicion of third-degree assault, harassment and domestic violence after allegedly slamming his girlfriend’s head on a tile floor at a residence on North 15th Street in Dolores.

Sunday, July 31

10:42 a.m.: A woman was arrested on suspicion of second-degree burglary, harassment and theft in the 7000 block of Road 24.3 after she was observed carrying a coin jar and two T-shirts from a fifth-wheel trailer.

5:01 p.m.: A man reported that his Ford pickup truck was damaged in the parking lot at Safeway, 1580 E. Main St.

4:05 p.m.: A man was taken from Montezuma County Combined Court, 865 N. Park St., to the county jail.
