Tuesday, May 19

7:09 p.m. A water dispute between neighbors was reported in the 8000 block of County Road G. A man tampered with a headgate. The case will be followed up on.

10:36 p.m. A semi truck trailer collided with a gas station canopy in the 27900 block of Highway 184, Dolores. Two dome lights were broken on the trailer.

Friday, May 22

6:50 a.m. One man and two teenage boys were arrested on suspicion of burglary in the 1800 block of County Road 27.8. One of the boys appeared to be extremely intoxicated and was cleared by medics. The boys were released to their parents. The case is ongoing.

Sunday, May 24

4:34 p.m. An ATV was stolen from a business in the 6000 block of Highway 160. A gate was dismantled to gain entry to the property. Surveillance footage showed two people drive the ATV off the property. Suspects were unable to be identified. The ATV was listed as stolen in NCIC/CCIC.

Thursday, June 4

12:44 a.m. A man was cited on suspicion of a minor in possession of alcohol and prohibited use of weapons in the 30400 block of County Road L. While investigating a noise complaint, officers observed two men in a vehicle with open containers of alcohol and a firearm. The firearm was removed from their possession.

6:47 a.m. A man will be cited on suspicion of second degree trespass once a search warrant is executed in the 27700 block of County Road T. The man was seen on the property without authorization by several employees of the business. Several items were missing from trucks and diesel gasoline was also reported missing for the past several weeks.

Friday, June 5

1:20 p.m. A man was reported to be intoxicated and causing a disturbance at a restaurant in the 100 block of South Second Street, Dolores. The man was escorted out and given a ride home. The officer began the process to declare the man as a habitual intoxicated person due to the sheriff’s office having had 68 contacts with the man since 2016.

Monday, June 8

4:52 p.m. A woman was cited for careless driving in the 24000 block of County Road T. A woman backed her vehicle into another vehicle, causing damage to it.

5:08 p.m. A burglary was reported in the 14800 block of County Road P. A window was broken, but no items were taken from the residence. Tools and a toolbox were missing from a shed. There were no suspects.

Tuesday, June 9

5:47 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault against a police officer in the 28600 block of County Road 38.7. An armed man was harassing neighbors and accused them of shooting at his house. The man appeared to be intoxicated. When officers arrived, he admitted driving his ATV onto their property and carrying a weapon. When he was being taken into custody, he became combative and attempted to kick an officer.

7:52 p.m. A man was cited on suspicion of obstructing government operations and disorderly conduct in the 21500 block of County Road C. A man ran at an officer when he arrived to investigate a fight and he refuse to obey verbal commands. The officer drew his weapon, but exchanged it for a Taser and deployed it against the man. The man fell to the ground and was taken into custody. The reported fight was between the suspect and his sister, and a witness stated it started out verbal but became physical and she could not break it up. The sister did not wish to press charges.

Sunday, June 14

4:34 p.m. A man was cited on suspicion of speeding in the 18000 block of Highway 145, Dolores. Radar detected he was going 92 MPH in a 55 MPH zone.

Tuesday, June 16

6:46 p.m. A burglary was reported in the 12900 block of County Road 41.9. A Hobart 210 Handler Wire-feed Welder and a Hobart welding mask were missing. There were no suspects.

Wednesday, June 17

7:26 a.m. A burglary was reported at Southwest Colorado Research Centers maintenance building, 16898 County Road Z. A window was broken and equipment was stolen, Video footage was not clear enough to identify any suspects.

Thursday, June 18

12:16 p.m. A man was cited for criminal mischief, running excess of water forbidden and penalty for interfering with an adjustable headgate in the 15500 block of Highway 145. A lock had been cut on the flow control and the headgate had been modified to flow at a higher rate than permitted.

12:56 p.m. A man was served a warrant for failure to comply at the Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St. He was transported to the jail.

9:25 p.m. Property damage was reported in the 28200 block of Highway 160. An unknown car crashed into a fence, damaging the fence and pushing railroad ties about eight feet. There were no suspects.

Friday, June 19

3 a.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of third degree assault and domestic violence in the 900 block of Lafayette Head Boulevard, Towaoc. A verbal argument became physical and the man hit the woman in the ribs and slammed her face into a wall. Blood was observed on a wall, door frame and floor.

Saturday, June 20

2:16 p.m. A dog killed three sheep and injured several others in the 25200 block of County Road 18. The injured sheep were photographed and the dog was located in the 25100 block of County Road 18. The dog was taken into custody and transported to the animal shelter. The dog’s owner could not be immediately located.

Sunday, June 21

2:07 p.m. A woman was cited for reckless driving in the area of Merritt Way and Fourth Street, Dolores. Another driver accused the woman of passing him on a double yellow line and almost running his vehicle off the road.

6:04 p.m. A man was cited on suspicion of having no proof of insurance in the 17000 block of Highway 491. The officer initiated a traffic stop for speeding and issued a verbal warning, but the driver could not produce proof of insurance.

7:23 p.m. A tablet was reported lost or stolen in the 34200 block of County Road L.5. The tablet was last seen June 19.

Monday, June 22

7:17 a.m. Theft by deception was reported in the 30700 block of County Road V.6. A couple purchased a 2015 ATV through Facebook for $2,200, but upon inspection the ATV was actually a 1999 model and in very used condition. The seller provided no title or notarized bill of sale and would not respond to messages. Officers were unable to immediately contact the seller. The investigation is ongoing.

Tuesday, June 23

9:40 a.m. Theft of various household items was reported in the 27100 block of County Road P. There were no signs of forced entry. There were no suspects.

10:26 a.m. A man was cited on suspicion of domestic violence, third degree assault and violating a protection order in the 8000 block of Highway 160. A woman’s husband grabbed her by the throat and threw her to the floor, then stepped on her hand. The wife had a protection order against her husband in place due to a previous assault.

11:41 p.m. A man was cited on suspicion of DUI and speeding 20-24 MPH over the speed limit in the 29000 block of Highway 160. Radar detected speed in excess of 87 MPH. When contacted the driver appeared disoriented and could not satisfactorily perform roadside maneuvers.

Thursday, June 25

12:03 a.m. A man was cited on suspicion of no proof of insurance and operating an unregistered vehicle in the 8000 block of County Road 25.

8:38 a.m. A woman was cited on suspicion of owning a dangerous dog in the 17 900 block of County Road G. A woman’s dog attacked a neighbor’s dog. It was reported to be the third time the dog had attacked their dog.

9:15 a.m. A male inmate was served with a warrant at Montezuma County Courts, 865 N. Park St.
