Saturday, May 27

1:59 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 14000 block of County Road G on five warrants after he was pulled over for speeding. Responding deputies said he had climbed into the backseat of the vehicle when he saw the patrol car’s emergency lights, and a female passenger jumped into the driver’s seat to get control of the vehicle. The man was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital before being taken to jail, due to suspected intoxication.

10:52 a.m.: A woman was issued a summons in the 26000 block of U.S. Highway 184 on suspicion of driving under restraint after she was pulled over for speeding.

8:11 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 5600 block of County Road 25 on suspicion of disorderly conduct. The man reported that someone had threatened him with a knife, but when responding deputies questioned him about the incident, he reportedly grew agitated, told conflicting stories and eventually began yelling aggressively at them to leave. During the investigation, the man’s neighbors complained that his constant yelling of profanities was making them feel unsafe. The man was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital before being taken to jail, due to severe intoxication.

8:12 p.m.: Deputies responded to a report of a stolen vehicle in the 13000 block of County Road 17. A man who was currently in California had reported the previous day that he believed his Ford F150 pickup had been stolen from his property. Cortez police found the vehicle the next day. The man reportedly did not want to press charges, saying he was just happy to have his vehicle back.

Monday, May 29

2:54 a.m.: A woman and a juvenile male were issued summonses in the 13000 block of County Road 25 on suspicion of criminal mischief. A man reported his ex-girlfriend and another person had slashed two of his vehicle’s tires, written a profane word on the hood and urinated on the car, causing $200 total in damage.

7:42 p.m.: A man was issued a summons in the 1000 block of Central Avenue, Dolores, on suspicion of trespassing after a woman said she suspected him of bending the windshield wipers and letting out the air in the tires on her vehicle.

7:48 p.m.: A woman was arrested in the 8000 block of County Road 41, Mancos, on suspicion of third-degree assault and domestic violence after allegedly attacking her ex-girlfriend, causing serious bruises.

11:38 p.m.: A man was issued a summons in the 22000 block of County Road G on suspicion of DUI and DUI per se after he was pulled over for speeding.

Tuesday, May 30

6:10 p.m.: A man was issued a summons in the 6000 block of County Road 24.2 on suspicion of unlawful ownership of a dangerous dog and failure to keep the dog under control after a neighbor claimed the dog had injured two of his sheep, causing about $200 in medical bills. The neighbor had shot the dog to keep it away from the sheep, but not fatally.
