Sunday, June 11

4 p.m.: Deputies responded to a report of found property near the intersection of Fourth and 30th Street in Dolores. A woman reported to the Dolores Fire Department that she had found a bag containing about 30 hypodermic needles along the Dolores River. The Fire Department does not accept needles, and forwarded the report to the sheriff’s office.

Monday, June 12

4:43 p.m.: Deputies responded to a report of lost or stolen property at Mancos State Park, 42538 County Road N. A woman said her camera, valued at $280, had gone missing after she set it down near the Twin Ditches in the park on June 9. Responding deputies closed the case due to a lack of leads.

Wednesday, June 14

9:13 a.m.: A man was arrested at Montezuma County Court, 601 N. Mildred Road, on a warrant for failure to comply.

9:45 a.m.: A woman was served with a warrant for failure to appear at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

12:09 p.m.: A woman was served with a warrant for failure to appear at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Thursday, June 15

9:31 a.m.: A deputy responded to a report of a wounded deer in the 14000 block of Colorado Highway 145. By the time the deputy arrived, the deer was dead.

11:51 a.m.: A man was arrested at Montezuma County Court, 601 N. Mildred Road, on a warrant for failure to appear.

9:23 p.m.: A man and a woman were arrested on suspicion of false reporting to authorities after they reported their landlord was harassing them in the 6000 block of County Road 21. The woman at first claimed the man was her husband’s brother, who had multiple warrants for his arrest out of Wisconsin. While the deputies were arresting him, he reportedly admitted he was the woman’s husband. The woman was also arrested. Responding deputies determined the harassment was mutual between the landlord and tenants, and ordered all parties to avoid contacting each other.

Saturday, June 17

12:39 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 2500 block of East Main Street on suspicion of eluding, reckless endangerment, illegal overtaking on the left, speeding, reckless driving, driving without registration, driving without insurance and failure to stop at a traffic control device. A patrol deputy attempted to pull him over for speeding on Colorado Highway 145, but the man refused to stop, leading the deputy on a chase from the Pelota Place intersection to the Main Street intersection, where he collided with a pickup truck. A passenger in the truck was treated for minor injuries to his arm and head. A juvenile passenger in the suspect’s vehicle was uninjured. The suspect had a small cut on his head, but refused medical attention. He reportedly said he was running away from the patrol deputy because he was “afraid of cops.”

9:12 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 27000 block of Forest Road 271 on suspicion of DUI and driving under restraint. Deputies responded to a report of a disturbance at the McPhee boat ramp caused by three intoxicated men. The deputies warned them not to drive, and left the area to call one man’s daughter and ask her to pick them up. While he was gone, the suspect reportedly got into his car and started to drive away. While he was being arrested, he reportedly hit his head repeatedly on the cage in the patrol vehicle while yelling unintelligibly. He was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital due to severe intoxication.

Sunday, June 18

12:17 a.m.: A woman was arrested in the 500 block of Railroad Avenue, Dolores, on an active warrant.

Monday, June 19

9:56 a.m.: A man was served with two warrants for failure to appear and failure to comply at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

12:14 p.m.: A woman was arrested at Montezuma County Court, 601 N. Mildred Road, on a warrant for failure to appear.

5:04 p.m.: Deputies responded to a report of identity theft in the 6000 block of County Road 38. A man said his credit card company had contacted him about someone who had tried to access his account using his address, date of birth and other identifying information. The case remains under investigation.

6:43 p.m.: Deputies responded to a report of possible drug dealing in the Uptown Plaza Trailer Park, Dolores. A property manager claimed that someone who was staying with a resident had attempted to sell ecstasy to another resident. The manager said she had asked the visitor to leave the property. The case remains under investigation.

Tuesday, June 20

10:38 a.m.: A man was arrested at Montezuma County Court, 601 N. Mildred Road, on a warrant for failure to appear.
