Wednesday, April 26

5:19 p.m.: A woman was arrested on an active warrant at the Ute Mountain Casino, 3 Weeminuche Drive, Towaoc.

6:36 p.m.: Deputies responded to a report of shoplifting at Double R Liquors, 18794 Hwy. 491. Employees claimed a man had stolen a shooter valued at 99 cents while buying other items. The case remains under investigation.

6:55 p.m.: A woman was served with a warrant for failure to comply on a DUI case at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Thursday, April 27

9 a.m.: A man was served with a warrant at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Friday, April 28

2:44 p.m.: A man reported a vehicle break-in and theft at Phil’s World, 9450 County Road 30.1. He said his vehicle’s front passenger window had been broken while he was riding his bike on the trail, and his wallet, which contained $3 in cash, two debit cards and one credit card, was missing. A pink cooler had also been taken. The case remains under investigation.

Saturday, April 29

10:52 a.m.: A woman was arrested in the 23000 block of Colorado Highway 184 on a warrant for failure to appear, after a deputy responded to a request to check on her welfare.

10:57 p.m.: Deputies responded to a report of a disturbance in the 10000 block of County Road G. A woman claimed her adult daughter had damaged property inside her home and was cutting herself. When deputies arrived, they reportedly saw the daughter attempting to cut her wrists with a piece of broken glass. They transported her to Southwest Memorial Hospital, then to Crossroads Detox Center in Durango, for treatment. The mother said she did not want to press charges and just wanted her daughter to get help.

Sunday, April 30

12:55 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 29000 block of County Road P.5 on suspicion of first-degree criminal trespass, possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of a controlled substance. A woman had reported earlier in the evening that she saw two men she didn’t recognize exiting a house she and her husband had just bought. The men claimed they were interested in buying the house, but the woman saw a wooden bench belonging to the house in the back of their vehicle and asked them about it. They reportedly responded, “Oh, how did that get in there?” and returned it. Deputies identified one of the men within a few hours, and when he was arrested, a sunglasses case containing a pipe and a small package of methamphetamine was found on him.

9:50 a.m.: Deputies responded to a report of an abandoned vehicle in Riverside Park, 1323 Railroad Ave., Dolores. They were unable to contact the vehicle’s owner, so they had it towed.

4:22 p.m.: A woman was arrested in the 10000 block of U.S. Highway 160 on five warrants for failure to appear out of Douglas, Larimer and Adams Counties after a vehicle in which she was a passenger was pulled over for failing to drive in a single lane. The driver was issued a written warning for the traffic offense.

4:38 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 200 block of East Main Street, Cortez, on two warrants for failure to appear.

10:25 p.m.: A woman was arrested on County Road 41.4 on suspicion of violating a protection order after deputies responded to a report that a man had dragged her into his vehicle and driven off. When deputies found the woman, she was with her husband and father, who said they were trying to calm her down because she was drunk and was threatening to hurt herself. Because she appeared to be intoxicated and her protection order prohibited alcoholic drinks, the deputies arrested her.

Monday, May 1

2:05 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 28000 block of U.S. Highway 160 on a warrant for shoplifting.

9:03 p.m.: Deputies attempted to transport a man from the emergency room at Southwest Memorial Hospital, 1311 N. Mildred Road, to Crossroads Detox Center in Durango because he claimed to have taken pills with alcohol and had made possibly suicidal statements. When the deputies attempted to put handcuffs on him for the transport, he resisted, leading them to carry him to the patrol vehicle, where he began banging his head against the partition. Because of his continued resistance, the deputies’ supervisors told them to take him back to the hospital.

Wednesday, May 3

10:49 a.m.: A woman turned herself in at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., and was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear.

12:05 p.m.: A woman was served with a warrant for failure to appear on auto theft charges at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

2:14 p.m.: A woman was arrested at Montezuma County Court, 601 N. Mildred Road, on a warrant for failure to comply.
