12:03 p.m.: A woman was remanded to jail from Montezuma County District Court, 109 W. Main St.
4:15 p.m.: A woman was remanded to jail from Montezuma County Court, 601 N. Mildred Road.
9:45 p.m.: A woman was arrested in the 1300 block of Central Avenue, Dolores, on suspicion of third-degree assault, child abuse and domestic violence. A man claimed his girlfriend had punched him several times while he was holding his young child, and had taken away his cell phone.
Friday, July 21
11:29 a.m.: A man was served with a warrant at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.
Saturday, July 22
2:25 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 24000 block of County Road G on a Durango Police Department warrant for failure to appear on a domestic violence charge, and on suspicion of unlawful possession of a controlled substance and driving under restraint. A deputy began following him because he was allegedly driving much slower than the speed limit and swerving between lanes, and when the man saw the patrol car following him, he allegedly came to a stop despite no sirens or flashing lights being activated. Two hypodermic needles containing meth residue were found in his pockets, and a bottle of prescription pills was found in a handbag in his vehicle.
6:23 a.m.: A man was served with a warrant for failure to appear at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.
1:07 p.m.: Deputies responded to a report of a dog bite at Narraguinnep Reservoir in the 23000 block of Colorado Highway 184. A woman claimed a black and brown German shepherd had bitten her several times in the leg while she was getting out of the water. A man who was with her said he kicked the dog in the head to get it away from the woman, and was bitten on his heel. They were both treated at Southwest Memorial Hospital for bite wounds. Deputies were unable to find the dog or its owner.
7 p.m.: Deputies responded to a report of property damage in the 100 block of Railroad Avenue, Dolores. A woman claimed someone had shot her pickup while she was driving away from the Dolores Water Dock. Deputies found a small dent in the rear of the truck, but said it did not appear to have been caused by a bullet.
8:47 p.m.: The man who was arrested earlier in the day on County Road G was issued a felony hold slip for the additional crimes of second-degree assault by strangulation, second-degree aggravated motor vehicle theft, third-degree assault and harassment after his mother claimed he had attacked her the night before and stolen her car. She was transported to Southwest Memorial Hospital for treatment of severe bruises to the neck, back and side. The missing car was valued at $10,000.
11:30 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 6000 block of County Road 25 on suspicion of disorderly conduct and obstructing a peace officer. While deputies were searching the road for evidence in a separate investigation, the man reportedly started walking up to one of them and shouting profanities. When he refused to stop or show his hands at the deputy’s request, the deputy reportedly knocked a skateboard he was holding out of his hand and tackled him to the ground. He reportedly continued to shout profanities and racial slurs throughout the arrest. Marijuana and alcohol were found on his person and destroyed.
Sunday, July 23
5:31 a.m.: A man was served with a trespass notice after residents in the 6000 block of County Road G reported he had run onto their property without permission. The man reportedly said he was trying to get to a friend’s house to pray because he had been “seeing the devil” and was having PTSD-related flashbacks. Deputies gave him a courtesy ride to the friend’s house after giving him the trespass notice.
12:08 p.m.: Deputies responded to a report of an abandoned mountain bike at Totten Lake, near the 10000 block of County Road 29. They were unable to locate the bike’s owner, so it was transported to the Montezuma County Sheriff’s Office.
6:28 p.m.: Deputies responded to a report of a fire in the 2100 block of U.S. Highway 160. A barn was badly damaged by fire. Deputies were unable to determine the cause of the fire, but they said there was no evidence of suspicious activity.
11:34 p.m.: A man was issued a summons in the 24000 block of County Road G on suspicion of speeding and driving under restraint.
Tuesday, July 25
10:23 a.m.: A woman was remanded from Montezuma County Court, 601 N. Mildred Road, because she had been ordered to begin her jail sentence immediately.
3:58 p.m.: A man was arrested at Montezuma County District Court, 109 W. Main St., on a warrant for failure to appear and on suspicion of resisting arrest and two counts of second-degree assault on a deputy. A deputy reportedly told the man he had a warrant when he was late to court, and the man responded by punching the deputy in the face and in the groin. Two deputies reportedly wrestled the man to the ground and arrested him.
10:24 p.m.: While on patrol for bears in the 400 block of Central Avenue, Dolores, Sheriff Steve Nowlin shot a bear with a rubber bullet as it rummaged through trash bins, causing it to run from the town limits.
