Thursday, July 20

11:24 a.m.: Deputies responded to a report of theft near the McPhee Marina, 27356 Forest Service Road 271. A man claimed his new paddle board, valued at $450, had gone missing while he and his family were on the McPhee Reservoir. The case remains under investigation.

Sunday, July 23

6:20 p.m.: A man was issued a summons in the 1 block of North Park Street on suspicion of driving under restraint after he was pulled over for disregarding a stop light.

Tuesday, July 25

6:58 p.m.: A man was issued a summons in the 13000 block of Colorado Highway 145 on suspicion of DUI, speeding, careless driving and driving without a license.

Wednesday, July 26

1:09 p.m.: A woman was arrested in the 25000 block of County Road G on suspicion of violating bond conditions after deputies responded to a report of a disturbance between her and two men. She was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital before being taken to jail due to severe intoxication.

1:15 p.m.: Deputies responded to a report of a break-in at a rental unit in the 4000 block of U.S. Highway 160. The property owner claimed someone had broken furniture, knocked holes in the walls and left food and clothing all over the residence after he evicted his nephew’s girlfriend, whom he claimed had stayed there after his nephew left. He also said tools were stolen from his workshop near the unit. Because the suspect was a resident at the rental property, deputies decided the case was a civil issue and closed the investigation.

6:46 p.m.: A man was issued a summons in the 21000 block of Colorado Highway 184 on suspicion of criminal mischief after a neighbor claimed he had shot at some “No Trespassing” signs on his property and burned a tire he had hung on his fence, causing about $200 of damage. The suspect was later issued another summons on suspicion of second-degree arson, after deputies determined the amount of damage would qualify him for an arson charge.

10:37 p.m.: Deputies responded to a report of a disturbance in the 14000 block of County Road 37. A woman said she had been in an argument with her adult son, who she said was bipolar, and that she was concerned for his well-being. Deputies gave the man a ride to Southwest Memorial Hospital at his request. On the way to the emergency room he reportedly claimed to be the devil, started growling and made several other odd statements.

Thursday, July 27

1:03 p.m.: A woman was served with two warrants for failure to comply at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

2:50 p.m.: A woman was arrested in the 28000 block of U.S. Highway 160 on a warrant for theft.

3:58 p.m.: A man was arrested at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., on a warrant for failure to comply.

8:58 p.m.: A man was issued a summons in the 2300 block of East Main Street on suspicion of driving under restraint after he was pulled over for driving with defective tail lights. He was given a written warning for the tail light violation.

Friday, July 28

12:10 a.m.: Deputies assisted Colorado State Patrol troopers with a DUI investigation in the 7000 block of County Road G.

11:12 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 28000 block of U.S. Highway 160 on a Cortez municipal warrant.
