Wednesday, Sept. 13

11:47 a.m.: Deputies responded to a report of a missing person in the 800 block of Central Avenue, Dolores. A woman claimed her adult son, who has a mental disorder, had borrowed her car on Sept. 8 and had not returned. While deputies were investigating, the man was found in the City of Las Vegas Detention Center.

1:39 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 200 block of South Fourth Street, Dolores, on suspicion of menacing and possession of a controlled substance after a man claimed he threatened to kill him with a baseball bat. A bag of crushed pills was found in the suspect’s pocket. He was cleared by emergency personnel after complaining of pain in his legs.

Thursday, Sept. 14

8:24 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 200 block of North 15th Street, Dolores, on suspicion of violating a protection order after deputies responded to a report he was in the home of the woman who had a protection order against him. The woman reportedly said she was alone in the house at first, but when deputies asked permission to search the house, she said the man was in a closet in her bedroom, where deputies quickly found him.

11:45 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 25000 block of U.S. Highway 491 on a Durango warrant for failure to appear after the car in which he was a passenger was pulled over for driving with obscured registration and a broken taillight. The driver was given a warning.

Friday, Sept. 15

12:25 a.m.: Deputies assisted Cortez police and Colorado State Patrol troopers in responding to a one-vehicle crash in the 26000 block of County Road P. An SUV had apparently crashed into a tree on the south side of the road. A woman was treated for unknown injuries by medics, and firefighters extracted a male and a female passenger from the vehicle.

2 p.m.: A woman was arrested in the 200 block of South Park Street on a warrant for failure to appear.

Saturday, Sept. 16

2:42 a.m.: Deputies assisted Cortez firefighters at a structure fire in the 6000 block of County Road 24.2. A shed valued at $150 was destroyed. Firefighters and deputies reported the fire’s cause did not appear to be suspicious.

5:34 p.m.: A woman was issued a summons in the 43000 block of County Road J.9 on suspicion of possessing a dog not under control. A neighbor claimed the woman’s husky had killed 19 of her chickens, valued at $25 each, and two geese, valued at $100 each. When contacted by deputies, the neighbor’s husband was reportedly riding a motorcycle around the property with a gun, saying he was “hunting for the dog.” Deputies asked him to stop and informed him about the county laws regarding using lethal force against another person’s animal.

Sunday, Sept. 17

7:16 p.m.: Deputies responded to a report of a traffic accident in the parking lot of the Cox Conoco gas station, 18794 U.S. Highway 491. A woman reported a man had backed into her vehicle with his pickup after she honked to get him to stop. Slight damage was done to the front bumper of the woman’s vehicle, but she said she did not want to press charges.

10:23 p.m.: A man was arrested outside Burger King, 520 W. Main St., Cortez, on suspicion of DUI, driving under restraint and possessing open containers of alcohol and marijuana in a motor vehicle after he reportedly crashed his pickup into the restaurant’s sign. A marijuana pipe was reportedly found in the man’s pocket, and two open cans of beer and a plastic bag containing marijuana were found in his vehicle.

Monday, Sept. 18

10:27 a.m.: A man was arrested on a warrant at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St.

12:02 p.m.: Deputies responded to a report of property damage in the 25000 block of County Road L. A man claimed that sometime since Sept. 15, someone had damaged the drywall and stolen a stereo from a residence he owns. Responding deputies reportedly found a substance they believed to be blood inside the residence. The case remains under investigation.

6:22 p.m.: A woman was served a warrant at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Tuesday, Sept. 19

10:42 a.m.: A woman was arrested on a warrant at Montezuma County Combined Court, 865 N. Park St.

12:22 p.m.: A woman was arrested at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., on a warrant for failure to comply.

12:32 p.m.: A woman was served with five warrants for failure to appear and failure to comply at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

4:20 p.m.: A man was served with a warrant at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

4:29 p.m.: A man was served with two warrants at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.
