Sunday, Jan. 17

8:32 a.m. The Montezuma Water Company reported that two batteries valued at $222 each were stolen from meter boxes near the intersection of County Road DD and 16 as well as County Road X and 21. A partial fingerprint was collected from a beer can found near the scene.

Monday, Jan. 18

9 a.m. A padlock valued at $10 was reportedly cut from a unit at L&L Storage on the 27000 block of U.S. 160. No items were missing.

12:57 p.m. A wheel well cover on a school vehicle was reportedly damaged at Southwest Colorado Community College.

Tuesday, Jan. 19

4:11 p.m. Minor damage from a motor vehicle accident was reported on the 100 block of 12th Street in Dolores.

5 p.m. A man was ticketed for expired tag and lack of insurance following a traffic stop on the 200 block of Spruce Street in Mancos.

Wednesday, Jan. 20

2:40 p.m. A woman reported that someone trespassed onto her property on the 6200 block of County Road 24.2.

8:17 p.m. A man was arrested and charged with criminal mischief and domestic violence after police responded to a disturbance in progress at a residence on the 21000 block of County Road P. A woman reported that she was dragged down the stairs and her face shoved into the snow. No evidence of a physical altercation was observed. The woman also reported a video game console valued at $300 was smashed and a window to her vehicle valued at $200 was broken.

Thursday, Jan. 21

1 p.m. A man was ticketed for writing a bad check to pay rent at a residence on the 10000 block of County Road 24.4.

2:33 p.m. A man was ticketed for disorderly conduct and obstruction at the Montezuma County Sheriff’s Office. A deputy reported the man yelled obscenities and refused to answer questions regarding a pending criminal matter. The man reportedly calmed down after a Taser was drawn.

Friday, Jan. 22

12:11 a.m. A man reported a mail theft incident at a residence on the 15000 block of Hwy. 145.

Sunday, Jan. 24

11:43 a.m. A man was ticketed for careless driving after an automobile accident on the 19000 block of County Road 31. Minor damage was reported after a motorist was forced into a guardrail in an attempt to avoid the collision.

4:56 p.m. A pedestrian was arrested and charged with drug possession and drug paraphernalia after a deputy stopped to conduct a welfare check on the 28000 block of U.S. 160. An undisclosed amount of methamphetamines, a pipe and syringes were confiscated.

8:36 p.m. A man was arrested and charged with two counts of assault and violating two protection orders after deputies responded to a disturbance in progress at a residence on the 28000 block of U.S. 160. A woman reported that the man threw a telephone, striking her shoulder. A man reported that he was repeatedly punched in the face and ribs, breaking his tooth.

11:37 p.m. A man was arrested and charged with assault, resisting arrest, violating a protection order and domestic violence after deputies entered a residence with guns drawn on the 23000 block of County Road G. Authorities responded to a disturbance at the scene after receiving a 911 hang up call. Newly engaged, the woman told authorities that she feared for her life after the man locked her inside a bathroom and threatened to kill her. During the disturbance, the man also attempted to rip his fiancé’s prosthetic leg off to reportedly keep her from fleeing. The woman managed to escape on foot, but the assailant caught and threw her to the ground before kicking her in the head twice. The woman’s telephone was lost after the attacker threw it. The man was also wanted on an outstanding warrant.

Monday, Jan. 25

8:39 a.m. A woman on the 27000 block of County Road T.5 reported that her deceased husband’s identity had been used to open an eBay account, and debt collector’s had requested $150 in fees.
