Sunday, Feb. 24

11:19 a.m.: A man was cited for failure to notify police of an accident and open container upon returning to a vehicle that he abandoned the night before on the 14000 block of County Road 35.9. The vehicle was left resting on a retaining wall with a one-third full bottle of beer inside the vehicle.

2:59 p.m.: A man was cited for driving without a license on the 11000 block of U.S. Highway 491.

Monday, Feb. 25

7:52 a.m.: A man on the 22000 block of County Road G reported approximately 10 hay bales were stolen. He valued the bales at $11 each and said he saw tire tracks leaving his shed. There were no leads or suspects.

Tuesday, Feb. 26

1:45 p.m.: A man was cited for criminal mischief and reckless endangerment for throwing a large stone through the rear window of a pickup truck.

2:08 p.m.: A woman was arrested on a failure to appear warrant at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St.

5:04 p.m.: A man was cited for driving on a revoked license on the 700 block of N. Mildred Road.

Wednesday, Feb. 27

8:36 a.m.: A man was cited for third-degree assault, criminal mischief and domestic violence for kicking in a door on the 28000 block of U.S. Highway 160. The door hit a woman’s forearm.

9:07 a.m.: A woman was issued a failure to appear warrant at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

9:50 a.m.: A man was issued a failure to appear warrant at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

1:49 p.m.: A woman was issued a failure to appear warrant at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Thursday, Feb. 28

9:39 a.m.: An intoxicated man was arrested for attempting to break into a residence on the 200 block of S. Eighth St. He was arrested on charges of third-degree criminal trespass and disorderly conduct. While at Montezuma County Detention Center, the man was uncooperative, and a deputy kneed him in his left thigh.

Friday, March 1

1:26 p.m.: A man turned himself in at the bond window at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., on a misdemeanor failure to comply warrant. He brought a wallet with $1,700 in cash.

10:37 p.m.: A woman was arrested on charges of menacing, criminal mischief, domestic violence and unlawful use of a controlled substance on the 28000 block of U.S. Highway 160. She admitted that she had been using meth. Her husband said she hadn’t slept in six days and had threatened him with a ball-peen hammer. When he was laying in bed, she hit the hammer against the mattress next to his head.

Saturday, March 2

1:20 p.m.: A headless, skinned pig carcass was found on the side of side of County Road 18. A deputy canvassed the neighborhood, but no one reported seeing anyone dump the pig, and dispatch said there were no other reports of missing pigs.

Sunday, March 3

5:51 p.m.: A man was arrested on charges of second-degree criminal trespass, two counts of criminal mischief causing $5,000 in damages, failure to notify police of an accident and two failure to appear warrants out of Mancos. He allegedly damaged a gate and a diesel pump at Fraley and Co., 6723 U.S. Highway 160.

10:34 p.m.: A man turned himself in at the bond window at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., on a failure to comply warrant.

Monday, March 4

11:08 a.m.: A woman was arrested on a failure to comply warrant at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

3:09 p.m.: A man turned himself in at the bond window at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., on a failure to comply warrant.

7:10 p.m.: The owner of animal rescue shelter Running Dog Ranch on the 15000 block of County Road 30 in Dolores was issued a summons for dogs not under control after two people reported being in fear of four dogs that were barking and snarling at them. The woman who owns a large number dogs and the rescue stated she did not know her dogs could not be off the property without a lease.

Tuesday, March 5

4:46 p.m.: No charges were filed in response to a woman who told the front desk at the Baymont Hotel, 2321 E. Main St., to call the police. The woman and a man were intoxicated, and the woman said the man had choked her. A sergeant determined that red marks on the woman’s neck were not consistent with an assault.
