Tuesday, Jan. 5

3:01 p.m. Deputies investigated a pelt theft from a residence on the 200 block of Central Avenue in Dolores. Pelts from two bobcats valued at $400 and a coyote pelt valued at $75 were reported missing.

4:15 p.m. A woman was ticketed for trespass in connection to a long-standing dispute at a residence on 1900 block of Hillside Avenue in Dolores.

Saturday, Jan. 9

5:17 p.m. A pet dog reportedly died in a structure fire on the 23000 block of County Road F.5. A space heater was believed to have caused the accidental fire.

Sunday, Jan. 10

3:45 p.m. A woman was ticketed for driving without a license and lack of insurance after a traffic stop for weaving on Hwy. 145 south of Dolores.

Monday, Jan. 11

10:37 p.m. More than a half-gram of methamphetamines was seized after deputies responded to drug activity at the Ute Mountain Casino Travel Center. Surveillance footage revealed the narcotics, contained inside a pill bottle, fell out of a man’s pocket while purchasing chips, donuts and a drink. The narcotics were destroyed.

Tuesday, Jan. 12

11:51 a.m. A woman reported a stolen chainsaw from a residence on the 34000 block of County Road M in Mancos.

3:58 p.m. Surveillance footage was requested to settle a dispute in connection to an auto accident that allegedly occurred in the Dolores High School parking lot. Minor damage was reported.

5:45 p.m. A teenager was ticketed for use of red or blue lights after a traffic stop on the 38000 block of U.S. 160. Controlled with a smartphone, the vehicle’s headlights were reportedly capable of changing colors.

5:46 p.m. An investigation revealed that a wood stove was responsible for an accidental structure fire on the 14000 block of County Road 36.75. No injuries were reported.

7:58 p.m. A man and woman were both arrested and charged with harassment and domestic violence after deputies responded to a disturbance at a residence on the 23000 block of County Road N.

10:41 p.m. A man was arrested on an outstanding warrant at the Ute Mountain Ute Casino.

Wednesday, Jan. 13

8:49 p.m. A man was arrested and charged with violating a restraining order at a residence on the 28000 block of U.S. 160. A deputy noted in his report that the suspect was medically cleared at the hospital after slumping over and not breathing well while in police custody.

Thursday, Jan. 14

3:24 p.m. A woman was injured in an auto accident at the Montezuma County Fair Grounds after an unoccupied vehicle slid into a fence. No citations were issued.

Sunday, Jan. 17

5:42 p.m. A man reported that a neighbor shot his dogs on the 24000 block of County Road G.2. A spent 12-guage-shotgun shell was recovered from the neighbor’s yard. The neighbor denied the allegation.

6:35 p.m. A woman was arrested and charged with trespass after deputies responded to a medical call on the 1900 block of Hillside Drive. Deputies have contacted the woman at the same address nearly a dozen times since November.

8:54 p.m. A vehicle passenger was arrested on an outstanding warrant after a traffic stop on the 15000 block of U.S. 491.The driver was also arrested and charged with reckless driving, speeding and illegal passing after deputies observed the vehicle speeding in excess of 100 mph in a 65 zone. More than six hours later, the driver was released after the arrest was absolved per jail policy.
