Thursday, Jan. 11

9:29 a.m.: A woman turned herself in at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., and was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear.

11:37 a.m.: A man was served with a warrant for failure to comply at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

12:44 p.m.: Deputies responded to a report of a stolen vehicle in the 6000 block of County Road 24.3. A man and a woman reported they had noticed their GMC Yukon was missing after they returned from a trip on Jan. 9. The woman reportedly said she had left her keys in the vehicle, but she believed the battery was dead. Security camera footage reportedly showed a vehicle leaving the property on Jan. 5, but responding deputies were unable to identify the driver. The case remains under investigation.

1:07 p.m.: Deputies responded to a report of a vicious dog in the 4300 block of U.S. Highway 160. A woman claimed that her neighbor’s pit bull-type dog had attacked her Chihuahua-mix dog, pulling it through the fence between their properties and killing it. Responding deputies found evidence the woman’s dog had crawled through a hole in the fence before being killed. Deputies did not issue a summons to the neighbor.

11:37 p.m.: A woman was issued a summons in the 17000 block of Colorado Highway 145 on suspicion of driving without insurance after she was pulled over for displaying expired license plates.

Friday, Jan. 12

4:17 a.m.: A man was arrested at Ute Mountain Casino, 3 Weeminuche Drive, on a Montrose County warrant for failure to appear on a larceny case after casino security guards reported he had not presented identification when asked. He reportedly had an injury on his right hand, and was cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital before being taken to jail.

1:26 p.m.: A man was arrested on three warrants, two for failure to appear and one for failure to comply, in the 12000 block of County Road EE.

4:24 p.m.: A woman was issued a summons outside Dolores Elementary School, N. 12th St. and Hillside Ave., Dolores, on suspicion of reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident after deputies responded to a report of a hit-and-run. A man claimed he had seen the woman’s vehicle hit a parked vehicle and leave the scene. The woman reportedly claimed her car had popped out of gear, and she had left the scene because the damage to the other car didn’t look serious.

Saturday, Jan. 13

2:08 a.m.: A woman was issued a summons on suspicion of DUI and driving with expired registration in the 2300 block of East Main Street after she was pulled over for driving with unreadable license plates and only one illuminated headlight.

6:31 p.m.: A man was issued a summons on suspicion of theft in the 28000 block of County Road K.2 after deputies responded to a report that he was carrying several firearms through a nearby field. One of them, a Winchester 70 rifle, had been reported stolen in Fremont, California. The man reportedly said he had bought it from a friend, but would not give responding deputies any information about the friend.

Monday, Jan. 15

5:12 a.m.: Deputies responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in the 10000 block of U.S. Highway 491. A juvenile was treated by medical personnel after they responded to reports she had a head injury, although the only injury medics found was reportedly some swelling in her right hand. Witnesses claimed the juvenile’s mother and the mother’s boyfriend had hit the juvenile repeatedly and slammed her head against a staircase railing during an argument about the juvenile’s dog. The mother and boyfriend both claimed the juvenile had hit her mother, who also had no visible injuries. Responding deputies did not file charges due to the inconsistency of the witnesses’ stories and a lack of physical evidence.

1:15 p.m.: Deputies responded to a report of a missing license plate in the 13000 block of the County Road 30.5 loop. A man reported he had noticed the front license plate on his vehicle was missing on Dec. 15, and he believed it had been stolen while he was out of town. The case remains under investigation.

4:27 p.m.: A man was served with a warrant for failure to appear at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

11:02 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 100 block of North 14th Street, Dolores, on a Durango warrant for failure to appear on a traffic charge after he was pulled over for pulling a trailer without taillights.

Wednesday, Jan. 17

9:56 a.m.: A man was served with a warrant for failure to appear at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

10:35 a.m.: A woman was arrested at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., on a warrant for failure to comply.

8:32 p.m.: A woman was arrested in the 6000 block of County Road 25 on a warrant for failure to appear on a misdemeanor charge and on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance after deputies responded to a report of menacing in the area. Witnesses reported the woman pointed a gun at them during an argument over a rent agreement, and then drove away with a man. Deputies stopped a car that matched witnesses’ description and found a rifle on the floor of the vehicle and a pistol in the possession of a male passenger. The female suspect’s purse also reportedly contained a bag of marijuana, a pill bottle containing meth and two pipes containing marijuana and meth residue. All witnesses declined to press charges against her for menacing.

Thursday, Jan. 18

7:18 a.m.: A man was served with an Archuleta County warrant for failure to comply at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

1:30 p.m.: A man was arrested at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., on two warrants for possession of a controlled substance and violation of a court order.

1:44 p.m.: A man was served with a warrant for failure to comply at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

4:59 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 24000 block of County Road G on a warrant for failure to appear.
