A semitrailer overturned off U.S. Highway 491 Friday afternoon, rolling onto the Stotz Equipment store property and hitting a power line.
The driver reported minor injuries and was transported to Southwest Memorial Hospital, according to Sheriff Steve Nowlin. He believed the driver was the only occupant, although he didn’t know the final destination of the vehicle.
The crash occurred around 4:50 p.m. Friday, according to the Colorado State Patrol. The Lewis-Arriola Volunteer Fire Department, Colorado Department of Transportation, Montezuma County Sheriff’s Office, Empire Electric Association and Southwest Health System responded to the scene.
Mike Trennepohl, manager at Stotz Equipment, said the incident affected power at his store for a little bit, and caused damage to some tractors. He said he didn’t yet know the extent of the damage.
The cause of the crash is currently under investigation. As of 5:15 p.m. Friday, the accident was not affecting traffic on U.S. 491.
