Search teams, family looking for missing Towaoc man

House last seen on Christmas Eve

Search teams and family members are looking for Arnold Dean House, a Towaoc man who has been missing since Dec. 24.

House, 49, is often seen walking or hitchhiking along U.S. Highway 491 between Towaoc and Cortez. He also frequents the area of Woody’s Food Store north of Towaoc, on U.S. 491.

When last seen in Cortez, House was wearing camouflage pants, a dark-blue T-shirt, a heavy dark-gray coat and dark-blue tennis shoes. House has a scar on the left side of his chin and is missing two front teeth.

“We have been looking for him for weeks,” said John Trocheck, Ute Mountain Ute public safety director. “The community and family are very concerned.”

Organized search efforts are continuing, he said.

House works as a day laborer, Trocheck said.

If you have any information about House’s whereabouts, please contact the Towaoc Police Department at 970-565-3706, Cortez Police Department at 970-565-8441 or Montezuma County Sheriff’s Office at 970-565-8452.
