School of the West will host a center/spoke weaving gourd class from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, at Artist Studio, 161 S. Main St.
Learn how to measure and cut a gourd for weaving various types of materials through its center. Coloring techniques, like a patina, adding embellishments or carving a design will also be covered. The rim will then be completed in a nice weaving of either sea grass or date palm fronds.
