It is that time of year again, time for the PE Extravaganza.
This is a fun time for families to gather and watch as our children do what they do best - be active.
Physical education teacher Ann Sanford always puts on a good show and the children love to perform their routines to music. This year should be a very special one as Sanford is retiring after this year.
The Extravaganza will be Thursday, March 26 at 7 p.m. in the Auxiliary Gymnasium.
Also on the night of the Extravaganza the PTA will sell "Half a Hog" raffle tickets. Tickets cost $10 each, and every ticket has two chances to win. Look for the PTA booth by the elementary office the night of the Extravaganza. The drawing will be held May 7 during the PTA meeting.
Kindergarten registration
Attention soon-to-be kindergartners, kindergarten registration is coming up. Make sure to mark your calendar for Wednesday, April 8. Registration will take place at the Dolores Elementary office from noon to 6 p.m.
Parents, make sure you bring a birth certificate, immunization records and proof of residence. Children must be 5 years old before Sept. 1, 2015.

Leprechaun traps
Students in first grade at Dolores Elementary School designed and built their own leprechaun traps last week in celebration of St. Patrick's Day. There were lots of green boxes covered in glitter with "gold" inside spotted at Dolores Elementary School. No word yet, if any leprechauns were caught.
Spring break is here
Spring is upon us, and so is spring break. Dolores students have the week of March 30 through April 3 off.
To help out a bit, the Dolores Public Library is offering a craft session for kindergarten through fifth-grade students on Monday, March 30 from 1 to 3 p.m. and a movie matinee on March 31 from 1 to 3 p.m.
Art show
Don't forget to check out the Dolores Art Program art exhibit at the Cortez Cultural Center. The show, which features art from all Dolores students will hang through March 27.
