Volunteers will install an interpretive sign, replacing old and missing signage, completed gate and fence work and naturale the old two-track road. This is a moderate to difficult project. Ages 16 and older are invited to register.
Retired archaeologist Kristie Arrington will provide interpretation of cultural sites and retired BLM Wilderness Specialist Chris Barnes will discuss the significance of the Wilderness Study Area protection.
Volunteers must preregister. Space is limited to 20 participants. Volunteers will meet at the visitor center and carpool to the trailhead. High-clearance vehicles are recommended. Wear sturdy shoes, long pants, gloves and sun glasses. Bring a day pack with lunch, snacks and water.
