Here we are again with another questionnaire about property tax increase to help Montezuma-Cortez School District. As a property owner, I always wonder why nonproperty owners get to vote on a tax that doesn’t effect them.

I don’t know anyone who doesn’t want our teachers, students and school employees to do great, and be successful.

A sales tax increase allows all citizens to contribute to a most worthy cause, not just property owners. Learn from failed previous attempts on this issue and take a different approach this time.
