Rob Yates Cowboy Golf Tournament set to tee off

Honors former Ute Mountain Roundup rodeo chairman
The Cowboy Golf Tournament honors former Ute Mountain Roundup Rodeo Chairman Rob Yates.

Among the many unique events taking place in Cortez during rodeo week, the Cowboy Golf Tournament stands out as one of the most meaningful.

Founded four years ago after former Ute Mountain Roundup Rodeo chairman Rob Yates lost his life in snowmobiling accident, the 18-hole event has resulted in several thousand dollars worth of donations to the Ute Mountain Roundup Rodeo in Yates’ memory.

This year’s tournament, which will again be a 4-man scramble format, will take place at Conquistador Golf Course on June 9, 2017. Several prizes will be given and players of all skill levels and abilities are welcome.

Entry fees for the tournament are $35 per person and individuals or businesses can sponsor a hole for a $100 dollar fee. Breakfast and signups for the tournament begin at 7 a.m. on June 9, 2017.
