Road work closes Lebanon Road at U.S. 491 in Cortez

The Journal

Improvements to the intersection at U.S. Highway 491 in Cortez require closing Lebanon Road on Wednesday, Oct. 5 through Wednesday, Oct. 26.

Lebanon Road will be closed to all traffic from the Carpenter Nature Area access road, west to U.S. 491. The closure will begin at the intersection of Lebanon and County Road L, allowing local traffic moving west. There will be no access to Lebanon Road for traffic eastbound from U.S. 491 during the closure. Northbound traffic on U.S. 491 will be directed to north to County Road L intersection to travel east.

Access to the Carpenter Nature Area access road will be maintained during the closure.

Trail parking will be maintained, though some portions of the trail will be closed to hikers and bikers to allow wetland mitigation work in October.

Improvements to the U.S. 491-Lebanon Road intersection will improve safety by building Lebanon Road perpendicular to the highway, and adding pedestrian crosswalks.
