Dolores' very own professional cyclist Lauren Hall is already making waves this year. While most of us are still thinking about putting our skis away and dusting off our bikes, Hall is making waves with her strong riding skills.
Over the weekend, Hall scored a first-place win in Tucson, winning the Old Pueblo Grand Prix.
It looks, according to cycling news, that she executed the race perfectly and blew away the competition. She rides this year for Optum Pro Cycling, and according to their website, the women's cycling team, which includes Hall, is poised to have a great year after this win. Last year, the team finished up the season at the World Championship in Florence, Italy.
Hall's first win was her first race of the season and she is expected to race again this weekend in the Tucson Bicycle Classic.
Good job, Hall.
Things are drying up
For March, things look pretty dry in Dolores, but don't break out your mountain bike and head for the hills yet. Nicholas over at Lizardhead Cyclery reports that the trails up at Boggy Draw are living up to their name.
Everyone in town is taking their bikes and heading down to Phil's World in Cortez, he reported.
The trails are perfect there.
Looking for a few good noses
The Dolores K9 Search and Rescue is looking for volunteers. For 30 years, this organization, with headquarters in Dolores, has been helping find the lost.
