I’ve lived here all of my adult life and one thing I find that doesn’t belong in Durango or the north Animas Valley and Hermosa is a diesel airhorn.
So I have a solution. Why not just replace the airhorn with a steam whistle? They both work on the same principal. The steam train runs off of steam pressure and the airhorn runs off of air pressure. I challenge the train to replace the airhorn with a steam whistle.
Seems to me like it would be a simple fix. I know it make a lot of people happier with the diesel engine running through Durango and the north valley.
