With Halloween season ramping up, the Piñon Project will be hosting its annual Pumpkin Fest on Saturday.
The festival will kick off at 9 a.m. with a 5K Zombie Run starting at Montezuma Park – runners will have to watch out for ghoulish distractions on the course.
“You don’t have to outrun the zombies, just your friends,” said Piñon Project executive director Kellie Willis in a statement.
The race will be followed by a costume contest from 11 to 11:30 a.m., trick or treating down Main Street from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and games and a carnival from 12 to 2:30 p.m.
Last year, the event saw about 700 attendees, according to the Piñon Project.
