The public comment period Tuesday night at the Cortez City Council meeting likely will be postponed until Sept. 26 because of a request to postpone a public hearing about an application to rezone and obtain a conditional use permit for 1050 Lebanon Road.

A City Council vote would be required for the postponement.

According to a news release from the city of Cortez, the applicants for the permit won’t be in attendance for the Aug. 22 meeting. If granted, a public hearing for the application will not occur this evening, although the City Council meeting will still be in session.

The next meeting that the application could be reviewed is scheduled for Sept. 26 at 7:30 p.m. at the City Council Chambers, 123 Roger Smith Ave.
