Tuesday, March 18

6:35 p.m. A man was cited with theft of $300-$1,000 and criminal mischief $300-$1,000 and banned from Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., after allegedly stealing jewelry from a display case. The woman with him was also banned.

9:10 p.m. A woman was cited for trespassing after being located at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., where she is banned.

Thursday, March 19

2:56 p.m. A man was arrested on a warrant at the Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St.

Friday, March 20

12:05 p.m. A man was arrested near the Cortez Fire Station 1, 31 N. Washington St., on suspicion of disturbing the peace. He was allegedly being combative with firefighters trying to help him after he fell.

2:33 p.m. A woman was issued a summons for shoplifting and also banned from Walmart, 1835 E. Main St.

Saturday, March 21

12:42 a.m. A woman was arrested on a warrant at the Salvation Army Thrift Store, 201 Pinon Dr.

2:24 a.m. A man was arrested at the National 9 Inn, 301 W. Main St., on four warrants.

3:25 p.m. A woman was cited with failing to present proof of insurance, operating a motor vehicle while license suspended, defective stop lamps, drug paraphernalia and having an open container, and a man was arrested on suspicion of violating a protection order that states he shall not possess of consume alcohol and possession of a controlled substance during a traffic stop on East Montezuma Avenue.

3:12 p.m. A man was arrested on a warrant at the Cortez Plaza, 2200 E. Main St.

6:46 p.m. A woman was arrested on eight warrants and on suspicion of violating a protection order that states she shall not possess or consume alcohol, and a man was arrested on suspicion of violating a protection order that states he shall not possess or consume alcohol at Burger Boy, 400 E. Main St.

9:26 p.m. A woman was arrested on a warrant near the Colorado Land Title Co., 631 E. Main St.

Sunday, March 22

12:20 a.m. A man was issued a summons for trespassing after being located at the Montelores Center, 20 S. Market St., where he is banned. Another man was banned from the location.

3:32 a.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of resisting arrest and violating bond conditions that says he shall not possess or consume alcohol at Super 8 Motel, 505 E. Main St.

8:29 a.m. A man was cited for trespassing after being located in the parking lot of City Market, 508 E. Main St., where he is banned.

11:09 a.m. A man was arrested at Pinon Project, 210 E. Main St., on a warrant and cited with criminal protection order violation and civil protection order violation.

8:13 p.m. A man was arrested on a warrant and issued a verbal warning for possession of drug paraphernalia on South Oak Street. An officer found numerous metal straw tooter straws, an empty hypodermic needle and green leaf marijuana on his person.

8:40 p.m. A man was arrested on a warrant at Sikis Village, 321 S. Broadway.

11:38 p.m. A woman was arrested at the Patron Nightclub, 309 N. Broadway, for a protection order violation.

Monday, March 23

12:31 a.m. A man was cited with harassment at Oak Meadows Trailer Park, 405 W. Seventh St., after allegedly slapping another man in the face and accusing him of being on his property.

12:59 a.m. A woman was arrested near the Cortez Police Department, 608 Park St., on suspicion of failing to provide proof of insurance, DUI, driving with blood alcohol content of .08 or more, driving with a revoked license and violation of parking or abandoning vehicle laws. The woman was found asleep in her car, which was not in park, and alcohol bottles could be seen in a child’s car seat. After providing a breath sample of BrAC 0.241 at the Montezuma County Detention Center, she was released to a sober party.

Monday, March 23

7:24 a.m. A man was issued a citation for trespassing and littering at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St. He was also banned from the location.

6:16 p.m. A woman suspected of stealing items from Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., where she is also banned, was identified by an officer through surveillance footage. The woman was not located.

7:09 p.m. A man was served a warrant at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

8:40 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of harassment, criminal mischief and violation of a protection order which states he can only have non-harassing contact with his mother when he is not under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Tuesday, March 24

8:38 p.m. A man was cited for trespassing at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., where he had been banned earlier in the day.

Wednesday, March 25

1:48 p.m. A man was arrested on a warrant and on suspicion of DUI, driving with a blood alcohol content of .08 or more and driving a vehicle with a suspended license (financial responsibility) at Ziggi’s Coffee, 1402 E. Main St.

Thursday, March 26

7:43 a.m. A man was cited for trespassing at Conoco, 110 N. Broadway.

8:43 a.m. A man was cited with possession of <one gram of fentanyl and another man was cited with possession of <one gram of fentanyl, driving license when revoked, failure to provide proof of insurance and displaying an expired temporary permit during a traffic stop on West Fifth Street and South Broadway. More suspected drugs and drug paraphernalia were found later in the vehicle.

2:29 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of attempting to use a counterfeit $10 bill at Liquid Assets Liquor Store, 718 E. Main St. He was later arrested near the Cortez Public Library, 202 N. Park St.

5:23 p.m. A woman was arrested at Veterans Park, 830 E. Main St., on suspicion of violating a protection order that states she shall not possess of consume alcohol. At the Montezuma County Detention Center following medical clearance, she provided a breath sample of BrAC 0.266.
