Thursday, March 13

4:17 p.m. A man was arrested at White Eagle Inn, 2110 South Broadway, on a warrant.

9:28 p.m. A man was cited with theft at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., after attempting to purchase items using the barcode for less expensive items. The man was a Walmart employee.

10:46 p.m. A man was cited for DUI over 0.08, careless driving and failure to provide proof of insurance after striking a light pole and spinning into the intersection of Main Street and State Street. At the police station, he provided a breath sample of BrAC 0.160.

Friday, March 14

10:22 p.m. A man was arrested at the Hampton Inn, 2244 Hawkins St., on suspicion of domestic violence and harassment. The man had allegedly told the woman he was with that he would “kill her” after pushing her and yelling at her.

10:59 p.m. A man was arrested on East Main Street on suspicion of disturbing the peace and open container after being found lying on the ground and unable to get up. A suspected vodka bottle was also lying on the ground nearby. Despite police and EMS attempts to help him, he yelled profanities and attempted to fight them.

12:12 p.m. A man was arrested near City Market, 508 E. Main St., on a warrant.

12:54 p.m. A man was arrested near White Eagle Inn, 2110 South Broadway, after violating a protection order that states he shall not assault, threaten, abuse or harass his father.

Sunday, March 16

12:57 a.m. A man was cited with trespassing after being located at Speedway, 921 E. Main St., where he is banned.

10:18 a.m. A man was arrested on three warrants near First Street Car Wash, 21 S. Harrison St. The man allegedly attempted to flee from an officer while also drinking a bottle of Kentucky bourbon.

1:02 p.m. A woman was cited with shoplifting at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., where she was working. She was banned from the store after the citation.

4:40 p.m. A man was arrested at the Cortez Public Library, 202 N. Park St., on suspicion of violating his bail bond conditions, which state that he shall not possess or consume alcohol.

6:09 p.m. A man was arrested at the Post Office, 35 S. Beech St., on suspicion of second-degree assault, violating two protection orders (cannot possess or consume alcohol and must not contact protected party) and obstructing a peace officer. When transported to Southwest Memorial Hospital, the man allegedly yelled at officers and medical staff, biting one officer on the arm and leaving bite marks.

Monday, March 17

10:50 a.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of trespassing after being located at Safeway, 1580 E. Main St., where he is banned. He was allegedly yelling at patrons in the store.

11:12 a.m. A man was arrested on a warrant at the Montezuma Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St.

9:04 p.m. A woman was arrested near The Pie Maker, 17 N. Harrison St., on a warrant and on suspicion of violating a protection order that states she shall not possess or consume alcohol, third-degree assault and obstructing a peace officer. The woman allegedly assaulted a woman she knew in the alley near The Pie Maker.

11:39 p.m. A man was arrested at the Post Office, 35 S. Beech St., on suspicion of violating a protection order that states he shall not possess or consume alcohol. At the Montezuma County Detention Center, he provided a breath sample of BrAC 0.181.
