Thursday, Feb. 20

10:57 a.m. A man allegedly was scammed $520 at City Market, 508 E. Main St., where he bought fake gold jewelry from a man and woman. The man paid the couple $20 in cash and bought them two $250 gift cards in exchange for the jewelry. The woman, whose passport identified her citizenship as Romanian, was later contacted in the parking lot talking to other people. She was cited for theft.

1:27 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of disturbing the peace after allegedly attacking another man in the parking lot of City Market, 508 E. Main St., pushing over his shopping cart and yelling in his face.

2:56 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of disturbing the peace and interfering with an officer after an altercation outside of Pinon Project, 210 E. Main St. He was banned from Pinon Project after the incident.

7:25 p.m. A woman was arrested on four warrants and on suspicion of violating a protection order that states she shall not possess or consume alcohol, for resisting arrest and obstructing a peace officer at the corner of Montezuma Avenue and Harrison Street.

Friday, Feb. 21

9:46 a.m. A man was cited with keeping a vicious animal and running at large after his “shepherd-type” dog allegedly attacked his neighbor’s “Chihuahua-type” dog. The Chihuahua had three open and bleeding wounds on the left side of its neck and upper shoulder.

10:30 a.m. A man was served a citation for trespassing after being located at City Market, 508 E. Main St., where he is banned.

10:28 a.m. A man was served a warrant at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

1:51 p.m. A man was cited for trespassing after being located at City Market, 508 E. Main St., where he is banned.

5:40 p.m. A man was cited for pedestrian disregarded traffic control device after running into traffic while chasing a dog on East Main Street and North Harrison Street. Both the man and the dog were struck by a vehicle, but neither suffered life-threatening injuries. After being struck, the dog bit the man and another man who attempted to help. The driver was permitted to leave the scene.

6:31 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of DWAI, POV, speeding and possession of both alcohol and marijuana containers in a motor vehicle after allegedly speeding and driving erratically on East Main Street. Upon conducting the traffic stop, the officer reportedly found alcohol, marijuana and “several large knives.” The man has a protection order which prohibits him from possessing and/or purchasing a firearm or other weapon.

9:59 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance of more than 4 grams, violation of a protection order and possession of drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop on South Oak Street. Another man in the vehicle was cited with possession of a controlled substance less than four grams, driving without a valid driver’s license and failing to provide proof of insurance. A woman passenger was cited with possession of a controlled substance less than 4 grams.

Saturday, Feb. 22

10:38 a.m. A man was arrested on a warrant at the Days Inn Hotel, 2604 Main St.

12:56 p.m. One man was banned from Front Row Seat, 610 E. Main St., and another was cited for trespassing for being located at Front Row Seat, where he was previously banned.

6:48 p.m. A man was arrested on a warrant near East Main Street and Ash Street. A metal tooter straw and a small baggie of marijuana were found on his person.

Sunday, Feb. 23

3:17 a.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of felony menacing, prohibited use of a firearm, obstruction, carrying concealed firearm without a license and possession of a weapon by a previous offender after allegedly causing a disturbance and pointing a firearm at a man at the Patron Nightclub, 309 N. Broadway. The firearm was later located in a field to the west of the nightclub’s trash can.

11 a.m. A man and woman were cited for trespassing after being located in the parking lot of City Market, 508 E. Main St., where they are banned.

11:14 a.m. A man was arrested on a warrant and on suspicion of failing to comply after being located lying on the sidewalk with his feet in the street of North First Street and South Maple Street. After being medically cleared, he was transported to the Montezuma County Detention Center, where he provided a breath sample of BRAC 0.297.

Monday, Feb. 24

9:14 a.m. A man was arrested in front of the Retro Inn, 2040 East Main St., on suspicion of violating a protection order that states he shall not have contact with his ex.

1:23 p.m. A man was arrested near the Cortez Fire Station 1, 31 N. Washington St., on suspicion of violating a protection order that states he shall not have contact with the woman he was seen with and that he shall not possess or consume alcohol. He was transported to the Montezuma County Detention Center, where he provided a breath sample of BRAC 0.227. After receiving medical clearance, he was transported back to the jail.

4:02 p.m. A woman was cited with trespassing after being located at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., where she is banned.

4:52 p.m. A woman was arrested on suspicion of violating a protection order that states she shall not possess or consume alcohol and third-degree trespassing after being located at Veteran’s Park, 830 E. Main St., where she is banned.

6:01 p.m. A man was arrested at Veteran’s Park, 830 E. Main St., on suspicion of violating a protection order that states he shall not possess or consume alcohol. After providing a breath sample of BRAC 0.241, he was medically cleared before being transported to the Montezuma County Detention Center.

Tuesday, Feb. 25

2:55 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of disturbing the peace and resisting arrest at the corner of Montezuma and Park Street. Before his arrest, the man was allegedly yelling at anyone he walked past and attempting to get officers to fight him. After walking past Kemper Elementary, he leaned against a tree and fell to the ground. When officers attempted to help him stand, he threw his shoe at an officer.

7:46 p.m. A man and woman were cited with shoplifting to wit: $43.64 after allegedly putting items from Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., into a bag without paying for them. The duo were also issued a never-expiring ban from Walmart.

8:43 p.m. A man was arrested at Veteran’s Park, 830 E. Main St., on a warrant and on suspicion of violating a protection order which states he shall not possess or consume alcohol.

Wednesday, Feb. 26

2:41 p.m. A man was arrested at Sleeping Ute Apartments, 516 S. Madison St., on three warrants and on suspicion of violating a protection order that states he is to have no contact with the protected party.

5:08 p.m. A man was served 10 warrants and another man one warrant at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

6:31 p.m. A woman was served a warrant at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.
