Thursday, Jan. 23

12:51 p.m. A man was cited with trespassing at the Cortez Public Library, 202 N. Park St., where he is banned.

2:09 p.m. A man was served with a warrant at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., after being arrested at the Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St.

9:05 p.m. A man was arrested at the Senior Center, 107 N. Chestnut St., on suspicion of disturbing the peace. The man allegedly tried to start physical altercations with homeowners on North Elm Street and West MacArthur Avenue. After he was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital, he was taken to the Montezuma County Detention Center.

Friday, Jan. 24

9:38 a.m. A man was served a warrant at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

3:47 p.m. A man was served a warrant at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

5:10 p.m. A man was cited with trespassing after being located at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., where he is banned.

6:24 p.m. A man was arrested and cited with a protection order violation (shall not possess or consume alcohol), criminal mischief, criminal attempt and obstructing a police officer in the parking lot of Front Row Seat, 610 E. Main St. The man allegedly flipped off an officer and punched his patrol vehicle. After being medically cleared, he was booked at the Montezuma County Detention Center.

11:30 p.m. A woman was arrested and cited for suspected harassment and domestic violence on West Montezuma Avenue. The woman allegedly lied to police about being the only person in her apartment after a call regarding a disturbance. Not long later, police could hear screaming coming from the apartment, finding the woman and her boyfriend fighting inside. After being medically cleared, the woman was booked at the Montezuma County Detention Center.

Saturday, Jan. 25

1:48 p.m. A woman was arrested on a La Plata County warrant at Speedway, 2021 E. Main St., and taken to the Montezuma County Detention Center.

4:15 p.m. A man was arrested on a warrant at National 9 Inn, 301 W. Main St., after allegedly having an altercation with another man about his wife.

9:19 p.m. A man was arrested and cited with violation of a protection order after going to the home of the protected party on South Cedar Street.

Sunday, Jan. 26

2:02 a.m. A man was arrested and cited with suspected DUI, DUI per se and failing to stop at a stop sign after a traffic stop. The man allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of North Mildred Road and East Montezuma Avenue. He was later released to his father from the Montezuma County Detention Center.

Monday, Jan. 27

8:56 a.m. A man turned himself in to police at the Cortez Police Department, 608 N. Park St., on two warrants. He was transported to the Montezuma County Detention Center.

11:13 a.m. A man was served a warrant at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

10:59 p.m. A man was cited with failure to present proof of insurance, driving vehicle when license (redacted), unlawful possession of a <four gram of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop on East North Street. An officer located suspected meth, a distorted/burned glass pipe with burned residue, a suspected tooter straw, new hypodermic needles in packaging and a tooter straw.

Tuesday, Jan. 28

9:18 a.m. A man was served two warrants at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

2:39 p.m. A woman was cited with trespassing after being located at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., where she is banned.

4:05 p.m. A man was cited with trespassing after being located at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., where he is banned.

7:41 p.m. A man was arrested on a federal warrant and another man was arrested and cited with violation of a protection order and resisting arrest after a welfare call was made for a residence on North Elm Street. The second man was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital after providing a breath sample of BRAC .201. Both men were transported to the Montezuma County Detention Center.

9:53 p.m. A woman was cited with shoplifting after allegedly taking items from Maverick Country Store, 455 N. State St., without paying for them. She and the man she was with were issued never-expiring trespass notices for the store.

Wednesday, Jan. 29

1:56 p.m. A man was served a warrant at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.
