Thursday, Dec. 26

3:01 p.m. A man who refused to leave Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., was found in the parking lot of Hibbett Sports, 215 S. Sligo St. He reportedly gave an officer a wrong name and appeared to be intoxicated. He was given a summons for trespassing after walking to the Walgreen’s parking lot, 1671 E. Main St., and told that he was barred from Walmart.

4:20 p.m. An officer arrested a man in the Safeway parking lot, 1580 E. Main St., for a municipal warrant.

4:44 p.m. A man who allegedly violated a no-trespass order from Walmart for a second time that day was found in Denny’s, 2059 E. Main St. and given a court summons.

7:41 p.m. An officer found a man lying in the cold outside Front Row Seat, 610 E. Main St., took him to The Bridge Emergency Shelter and cited him for trespassing, since he had been barred from the store.

10:56 p.m. A man expelled from the Patron Nightclub, 309 N. Broadway, was cited with resisting arrest and interfering with a police officer after allegedly refusing to provide his ID to officers. He received a medical clearance from Southwest Memorial Hospital and was jailed at the Montezuma County Detention Center.

Friday, Dec. 27

4:48 p.m. A man who reportedly had been yelling at customers at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., was found at Dollar Tree, 215 S. Sligo St., arrested on suspicion of trespassing and taken to the Montezuma County Detention Center.

Saturday, Dec. 28

3:31 a.m. A woman was arrested near The Bridge Emergency Shelter, 735 N. Park St., on suspicion of DUI, DUI per se, possessing open alcoholic beverage containers and failing to display vehicle lamps. Officers found two empty shooters, four empty tall beer cans, five beer cans and two empty Vodka bottles in the passenger seat. They also found two empty 99 shooters and two empty vodka bottles in the driver’s area. She recorded 0.147 BRAC at the Montezuma County Detention Center and was released to a sober party.

10:10 a.m. Two men were arrested after reports of a fight outside City Market, 508 E. Main St. The third man had a broken jaw as a result of the fight. One of the two arrested men was determined to be the one who beat the man with the broken jaw, though the other claimed he was innocent. Both were believed to be intoxicated, and were medically cleared at the Montezuma County Detention Center, then jailed. The man with bloody hands faces a charge of third-degree assault, and the other man faces a charge of interfering with an officer and false reporting after refusing to tell officers his name.

7:37 p.m. A woman at Happy Valley Trailer Park, 203 E. Seventh St., was arrested on suspicion of violating a protection order, which states she may not possess or consume alcohol.

9:02 p.m. A man who had been barred from Happy Valley Trailer Park, 203 E. Seventh St., was arrested on suspicion of trespassing.

Sunday, Dec. 29

12:14 p.m. A man seen on video taking items from City Market, 508 E. Main St., was found at a home on South Oak Street and arrested on suspicion of second-degree burglary and possessing three credit cards that did not belong to him.

5:33 p.m. A woman who had been issued a never-expiring trespass order from Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., was found at her home and cited with trespassing.

8:33 p.m. A man was arrested outside the Cortez Public Library, 202 N. Park St., after he reportedly drank alcohol and threw the can on the ground. He allegedly threatened an officer and his family, used offensive language and resisted arrest. He was medically cleared at the Southwest Memorial Hospital, taken to the Montezuma County Detention Center and booked on suspicion of possessing an open container and interfering with an officer.

Monday, Dec. 30

8:45 a.m. A man was arrested on a warrant at the Montezuma Combined Courthouse, 865 N. Park St.

1:46 p.m. An officer served one warrant to a man and four to a woman at a residence on East Driscoll St.

Tuesday, Dec. 31

9:57 a.m. A man was arrested on a warrant after a minor crash in the 400 block of West Seventh Street.

2:36 p.m. Officers arrested a man and cited a woman during a traffic stop in the 10 block of West 13th Street. The vehicle allegedly had fictitious Colorado temporary registration, and both people had suspended licenses. The man was arrested on suspicion of violating an order that states he cannot possess or consume alcohol. The woman was cited with operating an uninsured motor vehicle, driving while license is revoked as a habitual offender and displaying fictitious number plates.

Wednesday, Jan. 1

3:42 a.m. A man was arrested after reports of domestic violence and a night of drinking for the New Year. A woman told the officer that a man at the residence had woken her up and began yelling at her. She and another woman barricaded themselves in the bedroom. The man refused to give a breath sample, and he was taken to Southwest Memorial Hospital, where he refused to answer doctor questions. While on the way to the Montezuma County Detention Center, he reportedly urinated in the back of the patrol vehicle. He was cited with harassment, disorderly conduct and domestic violence.

12:19 p.m. Officers arrested a man on a warrant near Subway, 1219 E. Main St.

2:39 p.m. An intoxicated man was arrested on a warrant near the 400 block of East Main Street, medically cleared for jail and taken to the Montezuma County Detention Center.

7:29 p.m. An officer arrested a man in City Market, 508 E. Main St., after he allegedly violated a protection order from a woman. He was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital, then taken to the Montezuma County Detention Center. His BRAC at the jail was 0.297.

8:55 p.m. A woman sleeping near the City Market loading dock, 508 E. Main St., was arrested on suspicion of violating a no-trespass notice from the store earlier that day. She was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital and jailed at the Montezuma County Detention Center.
