Thursday, Aug. 29

3:41 a.m. An officer responded to a call regarding a disturbance described by the reporting party as a car honking and people yelling. While investigating, the officer arrested a man on a warrant at 1301 N. Edith St.

11:37 a.m. An officer served a warrant to a woman in the custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

1:33 p.m. An officer took a report for a protection order violation from a woman at the Mountain View Trailer Park, 815 S. Chestnut St.

4:27 p.m. An officer arrested a man on suspicion of trespassing at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St.

10:23 p.m. An officer arrested a man on suspicion of speeding 10-19 mph over the speed limit and DUI in the 400 block of E. Main St. The officer noted that a Colorado State Trooper stopped the vehicle the man was driving around 4 p.m. and mentioned that the man was the passenger at the time of that traffic stop and he had bloodshot and watery eyes, an odor of an unknown alcoholic beverage coming from his breath, and he was unsteady on his feet.

9:38 p.m. An officer arrested a man on suspicion of possession of alcohol in the park and open container at Veterans Park, 830 E. Main St.

Saturday, Aug. 31

12:48 p.m. An officer cited a man with animal cruelty at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St. The man stated that he had a timer set to check on his five dogs that were in the cab of his truck, but the officer told the man that he had been notified of the report for the welfare check for the dogs an hour before the man appeared at his vehicle for the officer to cite him.

8:11 p.m. An officer arrested a woman on suspicion of DUI, driving a motor vehicle without a driver’s license, careless driving causing injury, and open container in a motor vehicle. Multiple witnesses reported the woman was driving at a high rate of speed through aisles in the north parking lot at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., then she turned west and hit the median to avoid oncoming traffic but ultimately collided with a light pole.

Sunday, Sept. 1

12:11 a.m. An officer arrested a man on suspicion of DUI at the corner of Main street and Hawkins in the 2200 block of East Main Street.

4:18 p.m. An officer arrested a woman on a warrant at City Market, 508 E. Main St.

6:06 p.m. An officer cited a man with trespassing at Denny’s, 2059 E. Main St.

9:33 p.m. An officer serving a citation to a woman at the Colorado West Trailer Park, 1410 N. Mildred Road, arrested a man on suspicion of a protection order violation for being at the address.

10:24 p.m. An officer cited a man with trespassing at Dairy Queen, 1127 E. Main St.

Monday, Sept. 2

10:38 a.m. An officer cited a woman with disturbing the peace after witnesses reported the lady was yelling, “Their child does not deserve evil parents,” at the corner of W. Fourth Street and South Market Street.

12:03 p.m. An officer took a report for an incident involving barking dogs at 720 S. Chestnut St. The officer stated in his report that he cite the owner of the dogs with maintenance of animals that disturb the peace when he could not contact the owner of the dogs by phone.

3:14 p.m. An officer arrested a man on a warrant and cited him with second-degree assault after a report for an assault was made where a man reportedly was witnessed hitting another man with a golf club in the 500 block of E. Montezuma Ave.

11:21 p.m. An officer arrested a man on a warrant at 118 N. Sligo St.

Tuesday, Sept. 3

9:03 a.m. An officer took a report for a house break-in at 422 Jarrett Ave. The construction company owner reported that someone crawled through an unsecured window, tracked mud throughout the residence, left pink dye residue in the shower, and left property in the kitchen of the home.

10:13 a.m. An officer took a report for a stolen vehicle from Keesee Motors, 111 S. Broadway.

Wednesday, Sept. 4

12:21 p.m. An officer took a report for theft at Walgreens, 1671 E. Main St.
