Thursday, July 18

6:04 p.m. An officer arrested a man on suspicion of first-degree assault after reviewing surveillance video that corroborated witnesses reports that the man intentionally hit his girlfriend’s lover of six months with his car “making him flip in the air” at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St.

Friday, July 19

11:35 a.m. An officer arrested a man on two warrants in the 1200 block of Montelores Ave.

3:50 p.m. An officer arrested a man on suspicion of violating a protection order that states he shall not possess or consume alcohol at Veterans Park, 830 E. Main St.

9:10 p.m. An officer arrested a man on a warrant at the Skate Park, 1200 E. Montezuma Ave.

10:38 p.m. An officer took a report for a man he arrested at Centennial Park, 800 E. Montezuma Ave., on July 16 at 5:06 a.m. The highly intoxicated man was placed into custody for his safety and cited with possession of alcohol in the park.

Saturday, July 20

4:56 a.m. An officer cited a man with speeding 10 mph and failed to provide proof of insurance at 200 E. Main St. The officer also reported his request for an obstructing a peace officer warrant be issued to a man who fled the vehicle during the traffic stop, the man was found to have an extradition warrant and a Montezuma County warrant.

8:40 a.m. An officer arrested a man on suspicion of trespassing in the 200 block of S. Madison St.

1:09 p.m. An officer took a report for property damage at the Retro Inn, 2040 E. Main St.

3:35 p.m. An officer took a report for a theft from a vehicle at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St.

6:13 p.m. An officer cited a man with possession of an open container at 513 S. Madison St.

9:56 p.m. An officer arrested a man on suspicion of protection order violation that states he shall not possess or consume alcohol or controlled substances and third-degree criminal trespassing at City Market, 508 E. Main St.

Sunday, July 21

12:13 a.m. An officer arrested a man on a warrant after a five-minute high pursuit ending in the 10 block of Maple Street. The man is suspected of vehicular eluding, driving with a license under express consent restraint, reckless endangerment, reckless driving, speeding greater than 40 mph over the limit, driving a defective vehicle, vehicle number plates not clearly legible, displayed expired number plates, stop sign violation, and weaving.

4:48 p.m. An officer arrested a man on suspicion of violating a bond condition that states he shall not possess or consume alcohol at Doodad Storage, 85 N. Henry St.

7:28 p.m. An officer arrested a man on suspicion of domestic violence, harassment and violation of a protection order that states he shall not possess or consume alcohol at the Cortez Apartments, 620 E. Empire St.

8:27 p.m. An officer cited a man with violating a city of Cortez ordinance with regard to the keeping of fowl or poultry and violating a city ordinance by housing more than six dogs in a residential area at the Mountain View Trailer Park, 815 S. Chestnut St.

9:43 p.m. An officer served a man a warrant who was turning himself into the custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Monday, July 22

12:37 a.m. An officer arrested a man on a warrant who was hiding between a set of sheds and a house under a sweatshirt in the 26700 block of Road L.

12:20 p.m. An officer took a report for a hit-and-run from a woman at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St.

4:53 p.m. An officer cited a woman with driving with a suspended license and failing to provide proof of insurance after running into a woman on a bike with her car at the intersection of main and Mildred St., in the 10 block of S. Mildred Road.

8:31 p.m. An officer arrested a man who was standing in the middle of the intersection yelling obscenities that were offensive to the public on suspicion of disturbing the peace and interfering and resisting arrest in the 800 block of E. Montezuma Ave.

Tuesday, July 23

12:30 a.m. An officer arrested a man on a warrant in the 100 block of N. Park St.

4:41 p.m. An officer arrested a man on a warrant at the Family Dollar, 324 S. Broadway.

8:14 p.m. An officer took a report for a hit-and-run and property damage at 701 N. Edith St.

Wednesday, July 24

8:07 p.m. An officer arrested a man on a warrant, suspicion of violating a protection order that states he must remain 50 yards from a woman he was reportedly with harassing and antagonizing customers outside of the Liquid Assets, 718 E. Main St. The officer also arrested the woman he was with for violating a protection order that states she must remain 50 yards from the man.
