Sunday, June 9

9:14 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of DUI, DUI per se, and failure to maintain lane in the 2700 block of E. Main St.

Monday, June 10

8:41 a.m. An officer took a report of fraud at Liquid Assets Liquor Store, 718 E. Main St.

8:57 a.m. An officer took a report for vehicle damage at Best Western Turquoise, 535 E. Main St.

6:30 p.m. An officer responding to a call for a fight in progress at Veterans Park, 830 E. Main St. arrested one man on suspicion of disturbing the peace and underage consumption of alcohol. The officer also cited another man with disturbing the peace.

7:38 p.m. A man was cited with trespassing and shoplifting at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St.

Tuesday, June 11

3:48 p.m. An officer arrested a woman on two warrants who was remanded into custody of the Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St.

10:27 p.m. A woman was arrested on suspicion of trespassing at the Southwest Memorial Hospital, 1311 N. Mildred Road, after refusing several attempts of law enforcement and hospital staff’s requests for her to vacate the premises.

Wednesday, June 12

4:16 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of violating an alcohol protection order that states he shall not possess or consume alcohol in Veterans Park, 830 E. Main St.

5:22 p.m. An officer took a report for city property damage where one juvenile was witnessed breaking rocks off the eastern flagpole and two juveniles were watching at Veteran’s Park, 830 E. Main St.

7:52 p.m. A man was arrested on two warrants at the Tennis Courts, 870 E. Montezuma Ave.

9:54 p.m. An officer arrested a woman on a warrant for failure to appear and arrested her boyfriend on suspicion of obstructing a peace officer after he asked to hug her, then pulled her away from the arresting officer and refused to let her go at City Market, 508 E. Main St.

Thursday, June 13

12:26 a.m. An officer responding to an active fight call at Agave Azul Tacqueria, 44 W. Main St., arrested a man on suspicion of harassment and disorderly conduct. The man was reportedly denied multiple requests for more alcohol by the staff, who repeatedly asked him to leave. He reportedly asking other customers to purchase beverages for him and the Montezuma County Sheriff’s Office reported to the responding officer that they received multiple calls throughout the day regarding the man’s disruptive behavior. When the man got into the face of one of a pair of off-duty sheriff’s deputies at the restaurant aggressively, he was restrained by the pair from further harassing and verbally attacking other guests in the establishment until Cortez police officers arrived.

10:08 a.m. An officer at the Cortez Police Department, 608 N. Park St., took a report for a woman who repeatedly calls in bomb threats to 911 for various businesses. The officer requested a warrant for the woman on suspicion of violating a protection order and false reporting for threatening phone calls to Walmart, where she is trespassed from.

Noon. An officer arrested a man on a warrant and issued him and the woman he was with nonexpiring trespass notices at a property in the 500 block of N. State St.

12:30 p.m. A woman was arrested on two warrants outside Medicine Man, 310 E. Main St.

2:47 p.m. An officer took a report for a hit-and-run from a woman at the Southwest Memorial Hospital, 1311 N. Mildred Road.

3:35 p.m. An officer arrested a man on two warrants who was remanded into custody of the Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St.

9:47 p.m. A woman was arrested on a warrant at 2021 E. Main St.

9:52 p.m. An officer observing a highly intoxicated man crawling up a hill on all fours toward the sidewalk, attempted a welfare check and was notified by dispatch that the man had a warrant, the man was arrested near Safeway, 1580 E. Main St.

10:51 p.m. A man was arrested on a warrant in the 2600 block of E. Main St.

11 p.m. An officer took a report of domestic violence and third-degree assault at 206 S. Harrison St.

Friday, June 14

Midnight A man was arrested on suspicion of third-degree criminal trespass and a protection order violation that states he shall not possess or consume alcohol at the Speedway, 921 E. Main St.

1:37 p.m. A man was cited with trespassing at the Cortez Public Library, 202 N. Park St.

4:10 p.m. A woman was cited with shoplifting and was issued a permanent trespass notice from Walmart, 1835 E. Main St.

6:57 p.m. A man was arrested on a warrant at Veterans Park, 830 E. Main St.

Saturday, June 15

10:11 a.m. An officer took a report for a stolen vehicle battery at the Town and Country Furniture, 38 N. Linden St.

2:12 p.m. A man was cited for trespassing at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St.

10:15 p.m. An officer arrested a man on suspicion of felony DUI, drove a vehicle when license revoked, made left turn from wrong lane, and possessed open alcohol beverage container in a motor vehicle at 100 E. Main St. The arresting officer also issued a completed express consent affidavit and notice of revocation for the man’s license.

Sunday, June 16

12:25 p.m. An officer cited a man with shoplifting and trespassing at City Market, 508 E. Main St.

9:49 p.m. An officer arrested a man on suspicion of a protection order violation, driving an unsafe vehicle, possessing an open container of alcohol in motor vehicle, illegal possession of alcohol by an underage person, person under age 21 driving vehicle with breath alcohol content greater than .02 and driving a vehicle under suspension at 400 S. Beech St.
