Thursday, Feb. 15

12:27 a.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of harassment and domestic violence at City Market, 508 E. Main St., after a report that a man threw a woman down and attempted to punch her outside the store.

1:37 p.m. An officer served a man with a warrant at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

2:57 p.m. An officer arrested a man on a warrant at the Cortez Police Station, 608 N. Park St. The man stated he was sick and that’s why he missed his court date.

4:17 p.m. An officer arrested and cited a woman with two counts of trespassing and one count of resisting arrest at City Market, 508 E. Main St.

8:02 p.m. An officer served a man with a warrant at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Friday, Feb. 16

11:17 a.m. An officer cited a man with trespassing at the Cortez Public Library, 202 N. Park St.

1:58 p.m. An officer arrested a woman on suspicion of violating Ordinance 16-8 section A, parking and occupying a recreational vehicle on city streets and obstructing law enforcement officers while the vehicle was being towed at Cortez Fire Station 1, 31 N. Washington St.

7:58 p.m. A woman was arrested in the 700 block of S. Chestnut St., on a warrant and cited with unlawful possession of schedule IV substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, she was also served a non-expiring trespass order from Walmart, 1835 E. Main St.

8:51 p.m. A man who was reportedly yelling and banging on the hotel room walls was arrested on suspicion of trespassing because he was throwing rocks at the room he was a guest in after repeatedly being told to leave the Cozy Inn, 440 S. Broadway.

11:02 p.m. An officer took a report regarding a domestic dispute involving a vehicle collision at 7 W. 10th St. Both parties declined to press charges and decided to resolve the issue civilly.

Saturday, Feb. 17

1:01 a.m. An officer took a report for a stolen vehicle at Longs Trailer Park, 1016 E. Main St.

2:35 a.m. An officer took a report for shots fired in the 1200 block of Montelores Ave.

9:58 a.m. An officer took a report for fraudulent activity involving a laptop that was sent to and received by the Hampton Inn, 2244 Hawkins St.

12:22 p.m. A woman was arrested on a warrant at 720 Stratton Drive.

6:49 p.m. An officer took a report for a dog attack where a woman was bitten on the back of her thigh at 125 S. Madison St. The owner of the dog was issued a home confinement agreement for his dog. The dog was not happy to be placed on house arrest.

9:31 p.m. A man was arrested on a warrant at the Maverick Country Store, 455 N. State St.

Sunday, Feb. 18

2:52 a.m. A woman was arrested on suspicion of third-degree assault at Angels End Zone, 309 N. Broadway.

Monday, Feb. 19

2:13 a.m. An officer cited a man in the 100 block of S. Elm St. with DUI, unlawful possession of less than 4g of a schedule IV controlled substance, criminal possession of a financial device, drove vehicle under FRA suspension and possession of drug paraphernalia.

5:43 p.m. A man was arrested on three warrants and suspicion of violating a protection order that states he shall not possess or consume alcohol at Veterans Park, 830 E. Main St. after an officer who was driving by noticed a man physically assaulting another man on the pavilion.

10:09 p.m. An officer took a report from a man in the 1200 block of Montelores Ave. where his surveillance camera system application for his mother’s residence down the same street, alerted him of a woman entering his mother’s yard to take a unicycle. The woman a resident on Mesa Verde St. assumed the unicycle was being thrown out and abandoned, she was cited with theft. The unicycle was returned to its rightful owner, and the woman and several other individuals residing with her were issued never expiring trespass notices from the man and his mothers separate properties. The woman also requested that the man be issued a never expiring trespass notice from the Mesa Verde Street property, which was granted.

Tuesday, Feb. 20

11:26 a.m. An officer arrested a man turning himself over to the custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., on a warrant.

3:47 p.m. Officers responded to assist a community resource officer in removing a vehicle that was obstructing the roadway in the 1200 block of Montelores Ave. During their attempt to provide assistance to the CRO, the owner of the vehicle reportedly became aggressive and hostile toward the police officers. The man verbally threatened officers with a pointed stick if they touched his truck, he was cited and arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault on a peace officer, first-degree assault on a peace officer for using a deadly weapon in an attempt to injure a peace officer, harassment, resisting and obstructing for attempting to escape arrest and criminal mischief for causing more that $2000 but less than $5000 in damages to a patrol vehicle.

Wednesday, Feb. 21

8:32 p.m. A highly intoxicated man was cited with trespassing, released and escorted off the City Market Fuel Center, 506 E. Main St. property, then was arrested on suspicion of violating a trespass order 30 minutes later when it was reported he was on the property again yelling at employees.
