Thursday, Dec. 21

12:50 a.m. A man in the 400 block of Ash St. filed a report for damage to his private property and theft of a Gibson electric guitar, a space heater, cash and alcohol.

2:19 a.m. An officer responded to investigate a domestic violence report arrested a man for a protection-order violation for possessing and consuming alcohol, the officer also cited the man with criminal mischief and domestic violence. The man’s girlfriend was also arrested for a protection order violation for possessing and consuming alcohol in the 500 block of Fourth St.

10:15 a.m. An officer responded to a car crash in the 300 block of N. Broadway involving two women. The officer cited one woman with driving under suspended license and the other woman with changing lanes while unsafe after crashing into the other woman.

1:23 p.m. An officer at the Cortez Police Department, 608 N. Park St. took a report of fraud from a woman who received an email from a Lowe’s Home Improvement Store in Las Vegas, Nevada, regarding a pickup purchase attempt under her mother’s name.

3:18 p.m. An officer took a report of attempted vehicle theft in the 800 block of S. Market St.

4:35 p.m. An officer cited a woman for violating a trespass notice at Veteran’s Park, 830 E. Main St. after eyewitness reports of a fight between two women fitting her and another woman’s description were made.

5:16 p.m. An officer responded to a report of a traffic accident involving two women in the 700 block of N. Mildred Road. One of the women was cited with failure to yield the right of way at a stop sign.

10 p.m. A man was cited with failed to provide proof of insurance, drove motor vehicle while license revoked express consent, displayed expired number tags, number tags obstructed by tint device, unlawful possession of less than 4 grams of a controlled substance, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and arrested for three active warrants in the 100 block of W. First St.

Friday, Dec. 22

11:54 a.m. An officer at the Cortez Police Station, 608 N. Park St., took a report for fraud from a woman whose debit card was used on Walmart.com to make three successful purchases online.

1:55 p.m. A man reported larceny for a Milwaukee pack-out box with a compact Makita impact driver and drill set, drill accessories, a cordless Makita skill saw and accessories, and a Makita 5 amp battery w/charger stolen out of the back of his pickup truck at 237 W. Main St.

3:50 p.m. Officers responded to a civil stand by at the 1600 block of Taylor St. to assist with a man who was gathering belongings at the property of an individual he has a protection order for. At that time the man reported larceny for two motors and a go-cart worth $3,000.

8:12 p.m. A man was arrested and cited with harassment and resisting arrest in the 800 block of E. Third St. after officers responded to a report of a man kicking a truck and yelling.

Saturday, Dec. 23

3:33 a.m. A man was arrested on a warrant in the 1300 block of Mildred Road.

4:01 a.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of DUI, speeding and driving under suspended license in the 1500 block of E. Main St. The man’s passenger was also arrested under suspicion of violating a protection order that states she shall not possess or consume alcohol.

10:16 a.m. A man who was asleep in his girlfriend’s car parked next to his truck in the Walmart parking lot, 1835 E. Main St., reported larceny from his vehicle, suspected items that were caught being taken on surveillance cameras included a subwoofer box, jumper cables, a Rayobi speaker, radar detector and miscellaneous tools.

12:44 p.m. An officer took a report of a suspicious vehicle in the 200 block of S. Valley Road that showed signs of recent damage. It was illegally parked, and the owner of the vehicle arrived later on foot intoxicated. The owner claimed the car had run out of gas, so she walked to the gas station with a friend who was driving, but did not have a container to bring gas back to move the vehicle. The vehicle was towed.

11:38 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting and violating a trespassing notice from Walmart, 1835 E. Main St.

Sunday, Dec. 24

7:14 a.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of violating a protection order that states he shall not consume or possess alcohol in the 600 block of E. Second St.

7:42 a.m. A woman report larceny at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., for a box of new baby clothing and an Osprey backpack were taken from her vehicle in the parking lot.

9:57 p.m. An officer took a report from a man in the 1200 block of S. Market St. for his hacked Facebook account, which was being used to defraud people in other states.

Monday, Dec. 25

12:36 p.m. An officer took a report for a car accident at the Wiggi Wash, 1115 E. Main St., where a woman was cited with unsafe backing in a parking lot, after the officers reviewed surveillance.

1 p.m. A woman was arrested on suspicion of violating three protection orders that stating that she must not possess or consume alcohol in the 1300 block of Jackson St.

Tuesday, Dec. 26

5:36 p.m. A man was arrested at 400 N. Mildred Road on suspicion of violating a protection order that states he shall not possess or consume alcohol.

11:18 p.m. A woman was arrested on a warrant at the Handy Mart, 806 S. Broadway, after an officer traffic stopped her for the front window tint.

Wednesday, Dec. 27

2:25 a.m. An officer responded to a 911 call made from a man at the Maverik Country Store, 455 N. State St., who reported that an intoxicated man in a white Jeep Gladiator accused him of causing damage to his taillight and tried to fight him. Officers located the white Jeep Gladiator traveling in the 25000 block of County Road L. The owner of the white Jeep Gladiator was arrested and cited with DUI after failing voluntary roadside maneuvers.

2:55 p.m. An officer responded to the 200 block of N. Sligo St. to investigate a report of a reckless driver. After locating the vehicle matching the description and investigating, the officer arrested and cited the driver with failing to signal, nonworking taillamps, driving when license restricted for express consent, failing to present proof of insurance, aggravated motor vehicle theft, unlawful distribution of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of controlled substances, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and special offender. The passenger was arrested and cited with aggravated motor vehicle theft, unlawful distribution of controlled substances, unlawful possession of controlled substances, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, introduction of contraband in the second degree, criminal impersonation, special offender and false reporting. The vehicle was reported as stolen from San Juan County, New Mexico.

7:07 p.m. A man was arrested in the 600 block of S. Washington St. on suspicion of violating a protection order that states he shall not possess or consume alcohol.
