Thursday, May 4

2:33 a.m. A woman driving a stolen vehicle in the 800 block of South Broadway was given a citation and a courtesy ride the Cortez Public Library, 202 N. Park St. A man in the car was arrested on a warrant.

3:57 a.m. A man in 12200 block of Road 29 noticed his truck was missing. The truck was found parked on the shoulder of the roadway in the 28000 block of Road M. A box with electronics, a vehicle computer tool and a handgun were all missing from the truck.

8:16 a.m. A man in the parking lot of Holiday Inn, 2121 E. Main St., noticed that a tool bag, a speaker battery and a bag containing breakers and a torque wrench we missing from the bed of his truck. He believes they were taken during the night.

8:57 a.m. A man with a warrant turned himself over to the custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

3:10 p.m. A man at the Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., was arrested on a warrant.

3:31 p.m. A woman house-sitting for a friend in the 700 block of Aspen Drive was bit by her friend’s dog.

4 p.m. A man walking through Veteran’s Park, 802 E. Main St., was arrested on a warrant.

10:07 p.m. A woman in the 600 block of Main Street was arrested on suspicion of violating a protection order with alcohol restrictions.

10:42 p.m. An intoxicated man driving an electric scooter in Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., was arrested on two warrants.

Friday, May 5

8:33 a.m. A man in the 200 block of East North Street noticed a tool bag containing boiler repair tools was missing. The man believes the bag was stolen on Tuesday, April 25, when someone stole a propane tank from the back of his truck. The estimated cost of the stolen items is $1050

9:13 a.m. A person stashed a backpack in a parcel locker at the Post Office, 35 Beech St. The back pack contained debit cards and an Arizona state ID.

12:57 p.m. A man who threw and hit a dog in the 200 block of East Seventh Street was issued summons on suspicion of cruelty to animals.

2:46 p.m. An officer served a warrant to man in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Saturday, May 6

3:12 a.m. An intoxicated man who cut his arm by punching a window in the 1700 block of Rampart Street was arrested on a warrant.

11:27 p.m. Two cars were broken into and items were stolen. One car was in the 200 block of North Silgo Street and the other was in the 600 block of South Cedar Street. Two men seen trying to break into cars in the 500 block of West Fourth Street are suspected for these incidents.

1:02 p.m. An intoxicated man in the 700 block of North Park Street was arrested on two warrants and was issued summons on suspicion of violating a protection order with alcohol restrictions.

11:04 p.m. A man driving a car in the 700 block of Stratton Drive hit a parked Jeep and drove off.

Sunday, May 7

2:04 p.m. A man at City Market, 508 E. Main St., was issued summons on suspicion of trespassing.

Monday, May 8

10:14 a.m. A woman who pushed a man to the ground at Cortez City Park, 803 E. Montezuma Ave., was arrested on suspicion of violating a protection order with alcohol restrictions.

10:34 a.m. A dog hopped a backyard fence in the 800 block of East Third Street and attacked a dog. The dog was impounded at the Cortez Animal Shelter, 2791 E. Main St., as the owner could not be contacted.

11:22 a.m. A .22 rifle was found on the dock of Denny Lake, 2825 E. Main St. The rifle was rusty and looked to have been pulled up from the lake by an angler.

3:17 p.m. A woman threatened her ex-husband’s ex-girlfriend over Facebook Messenger. The woman brought a bat to the ex-girlfriends house in the 300 block of South Broadway and demanded they fight. When the ex-girlfriend did not come out, the woman smashed the ex-girlfriend’s car windshield and left. The woman was arrested on suspicion of harassment, menacing and criminal mischief.

5:24 p.m. A man at Hibbett Sports, 215 S. Silgo St., was arrested on three warrants.

10:47 p.m. A man pulled over for a missing taillight in the 100 block of East Seventh Street was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. Some of the passengers in the vehicle were arrested on warrants.

Tuesday, May 9

7:03 a.m. A person cut a fence surrounding the maintenance shop at the Cortez Golf Course, 2018 N. Dolores Road, and stole 30 gallons of gas and a Kubota work vehicle.

12:01 p.m. A man in the 500 block of East Main Street was arrested on a warrant.

2:59 p.m. Two women in the 500 block of South Beech Street noticed their cars had items taken from them. One woman had a bottle of perfume taken and the other woman had her wallet taken. The wallet was found by the woman in the intersection of South Beech Street and East Fifth Street.

3:10 p.m. A man at the Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., was arrested on two warrants.

5:08 p.m. A man at Four States Tire, 41 N. Edith St., noticed his wife’s .45 caliber handgun had been taken from his truck.

6:26 p.m. An officer served a warrant to man in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Monday, May 10

2:03 a.m. A man at Speedway, 921 E. Main St., was arrested on two warrants and on suspicion of trespassing. During the arrest 4.7 grams of methamphetamine were found him and he was issued summons on suspicion possession of a controlled substance.
