Thursday, Oct. 6

3:51 a.m., A man was pulled over for driving a truck with broken headlight and was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving and identity theft when he was found with multiple ID documents not belonging to him.

10:16 a.m., Someone found a bag filled with what was believed to be drug paraphernalia at the Cozy Inn, 440 S Broadway, and was turned over to the police. One of the items found in the bag was unknown pills, which were documented and set aside to be destroyed.

10:44 a.m., A woman at the Montezuma County Court, 865 N. Park St., was arrested on suspicion of violating a protection order of no contact, no exceptions, after she said “Good Morning“ to the person she was protected against.

10:55 a.m., A woman drove into an intersection in the 2200 block of East Main Street and struck the back passenger side of a car, spinning it completely around. She was issued a citation for failure to yield.

11:28 a.m., A man was arrested at the Montezuma County Court, 865 N Park St., for a warrant and was detained at the Montezuma County Detention Center.

11:56 a.m., Someone at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., was served a warrant by an officer.

2:56 p.m., Someone reported their revolver stolen while at the Econolodge, 2020 E. Main St.

3:31 p.m., An officer served a warrant to someone at the Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

4:35 p.m., Someone turned over a cannabis container to the police after they found it in some donations to the Methodist Thrift Store. The container was set aside for destruction.

5:42 p.m., A man turned himself in to the Detention Center, 865 N. Park St., and was arrested for a warrant.

9:14 p.m., A report was made of a hit-and-run where the driver hit a parked vehicle in the 500 block of west Seventh street, taking a mirror off the parked car, and left the scene to later be arrested.

10:47 p.m., A man seen disturbing some workers at Shiloh Steakhouse, 5 S. Veach St., was arrested for a failure to appear warrant.

Friday, Oct. 7

9:44 a.m., A woman in the 400 block of south Chestnut Street was arrested for a warrant.

10:03 a.m., A bag with a several of phone cases was found by a shed in the 100 block of east First Street and was turned over to the police.

1:40 p.m., On truck rear-ended another truck in the 400 block of east Main Street.

7:50 p.m., A drunken man accidentally sliced open his own hand with a machete and was transported to the hospital by an officer. His machete was taken into evidence for per his mothers request.

8:09 p.m., A report was made for a windshield that may have been shattered by children throwing rocks in the 500 block of North Broadway.

8:54 p.m., A license plate was stolen of a jeep in the 1800 block of east Main Street.

10:43 p.m., A man was arrested in the 500 block of east Main Street on suspicion of violating a protection order that prevents him from drinking alcohol.

Sunday, Oct. 8

2:13 a.m., Two vehicles in the 300 block of North Broadway were stolen from by possibly the same person. A couple of the items taken include a handgun and a key fob.

2:30 p.m., A man was arrested in the 1800 block of east Main Street on suspicion of violating a protection order that prevents him from drinking or possessing alcohol.

3:18 p.m., Someone may have stolen a handgun after it was left by the owner in a bathroom at Safeway, 1580 E. Main St.

5:47 p.m., A man backed his truck into a car in the City Market parking lot, 508 E. Main St.

Monday, Oct. 9

2:52 a.m., A man was arrested on suspicion of third-degree assault and criminal mischief after punching someone in the face at 620 W. Seventh St.

Tuesday, Oct. 10

9:02 a.m., A man backed his car into another car in the McDonald's parking lot, 1322 E. Main St.

8:14 a.m., A woman was issued summons on suspicion of drunken driving and careless driving after she swerved into a car in front of her near the intersection of North Roger Smith Avenue and East Main Street. She was released into a friend’s custody.

Wednesday, Oct. 11

9:17 a.m., Two people were reported to have stolen towels and bathmats from Speedy Wash, 1215 E. Main St.

12:13 p.m, A man was arrested for a warrant for failure to appear at the Detention Center.

1:23 p.m., A man was arrested on suspicion of assault at City Market, 508 E. Main St., after hitting a woman and her dog.

2:37 p.m., A handbag found in the parking lot of Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., and was turned over to the police.

4:08 p.m., A report was made for lost property at the Cortez Police Department, as a woman left her wallet that contained her passport in a Walmart, and was unable to recover it.

7:03 p.m., An officer served a warrant to someone at the Montezuma County Detention Center.

8:27 p.m., Someone opened a garage door and stole a mountain bike in the 300 block of South Madison Street.

Thursday, Oct. 12

12:12 p.m., A woman did not engage her parking break and rolled backward into a car at the Montezuma County Clerk’s Office, 140 W. Main St.

12:32 p.m., Someone called in a false bomb threat to Walmart, 1835 E. Main St.

11:32 p.m., A man was arrested for a warrant in the 14000 block of North Dolores Road. He was also found possibly be in violation of a protection order that prevents him from possessing or drinking alcohol.
