Thursday, May 19

8 a.m. A man turned himself in at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

1:50 p.m. A man was taken into custody on a warrant in the 200 block of Piñon Drive.

6:36 p.m. A woman was taken into custody for violating a protection order that restrained her from contacting a man in the 1200 block of North Edith Street.

8:26 p.m. Two men were arrested on warrants after someone reported them for drug use in the 300 block of West Main Street. One man had paraphernalia and possibly fentanyl on him and was cited for possessing controlled substances, violating a protection order violation and possessing drug paraphernalia.

Friday, May 20

2:44 a.m. A woman reported that someone damaged her car windshield in the lower 100 block of South Harrison Street. There were no leads.

4:47 p.m. A man reported that a man hit him in the face in the 500 block of East Main Street. An officer attempted to contact the man to pursue charges.

5:26 p.m. A man was arrested in the 400 block of East Second Street after he was spotted with a woman from whom he was legally restrained from contacting.

6:48 p.m. A man reported at the Cortez Police Department, 608 N. Park St. that someone hit his car and drove away. There were no leads.

7:18 p.m. An intoxicated man was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant after an officer pulled him over in the lower 100 block of North Mildred Road. He was cited for drinking and driving, having an open alcoholic container, driving without a license, and failing to provide proof of insurance.

Saturday, May 21

9:30 a.m. A man reported that an abandoned home was broken into in the 900 block of North Market Street. There were no leads.

Sunday, May 22

7:14 a.m. A woman was cited for having a dog at large after her neighbor reported the dog was running around and barking in the 800 block of East Third Street.

Monday, May 23

6:51 a.m. An intoxicated man was arrested on an outstanding warrant at Parque de Vida, 400 N. Mildred Road.

9:31 a.m. Two men reportedly were fighting at the Duck Pond, 515 N. Mildred Road. One man was arrested for violating a protection order banning him from drinking. The other man was cited for disorderly conduct.

12:04 p.m. The owner of Polliwogs and Frogs, 1423 E. Main St., reported that a window was damaged at the business. There were no leads.

12:23 p.m. A man was served a warrant at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

1:11 p.m. A man reported that someone was using his wife’s credit card to buy things at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St. An officer identified a man based off distinctive tattoos shown in Walmart’s surveillance footage. A detective took over the case.

Tuesday, May 24

2:59 a.m. A woman reported that a man attempted to break into her house in the 700 block of Aspen Drive. The man admitted to being high on meth. He was arrested and cited for criminal attempt, first-degree criminal trespass, unlawful use of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

10:25 a.m. A small fire in a plastic planter pot occurred in the lower 100 block of South Mildred Road. Firefighters put out the fire and determined it was started by cigarette butts.

1:36 p.m. A man was arrested and cited for second-degree assault and crimes against an at-risk adult after he reportedly tried to hit an elderly man with a shovel in the 400 block of West Fourth Street.

3:45 p.m. An employee reported a counterfeit bill at Four Corners Community Bank, 77 W. Main St.

Wednesday, May 25

4:31 a.m. A man reported a hit-an- run in the 1200 block of Melrose Street. There were no leads.

10:14 a.m. A man was arrested on five outstanding warrants after his girlfriend reported that he stole her daughter]s iPad in the 1400 block of North Mildred Road.
