Friday, Aug. 27

9:54 a.m. An air compressor was reported stolen from a shed on a vacant property in the 100 block of East Seventh Street. Access apparently was gained through a cut wire fence. Police had no suspects.

2:41 p.m. A hit-and-run crash was reported in the 1700 block of East Main St. A driver of a dark-colored Chevrolet or Dodge, with damage on its passenger side, allegedly hit a parked Jeep, found with damage on its driver’s side. No surveillance video was available, and police had no suspect.

5:13 p.m. A driver of a Chevrolet truck was cited in the 1200 block of East Main Street for following too closely after he allegedly rear-ending a Nissan truck after the forward truck stopped suddenly in a construction area.

9:41 p.m. A driver was cited in the 10 block of North Park Street for DUI, driving without a valid license or license plates, and failing to signal and drive in a single lane. He was cleared for jail by at Southwest Memorial Hospital. The vehicle was towed.

10:33 p.m. A man driving in the 2200 block of East Main Street was cited for DUI, and driving without lighted headlamps and a valid driver’s license. He also was served with a warrant from Utah, and cleared for jail by Southwest Memorial Hospital.

Saturday, Aug. 28

8:20 a.m. A maroon Chevy Trailblazer with Arizona license plates allegedly hit a parked car at City Market, 508 E. Main St. Video surveillance did not give conclusive evidence of the collision, and police had no suspects or leads.

8:39 a.m. An intoxicated woman was arrested on a warrant in Veterans Park, 830 E. Main St., and cleared for jail by Southwest Memorial Hospital.

Sunday, Aug. 29

2:47 p.m. Two vehicles collided in the parking lot at Parque de Vida, 400 N. Mildred St. Because of conflicting reports, the officer was unable to assign fault.

4:25 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of third-degree assault and disorderly conduct in the 200 block of West Main Street after allegedly punching a man in the face.

6:07 p.m. A man who had been trespassed apparently eluded an officer in Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., and might face a warrant for obstructing police and trespassing.

10:24 p.m. A man was arrested for lying in the road intoxicated, was cleared for jail and was taken to the Montezuma County Detention Center.

Monday, Aug. 30

8:21 a.m. The Western Insurance Group, 23 W. Seventh St., reported a break-in and theft of items including suckers and pocket change.

10:18 a.m. A man was cited for interfering with an officer, who had been investigating a public disturbance in in the 900 block of May Lane.

2:37 p.m. A woman was cited for following too closely after colliding with a vehicle in the 400 block of East Main St.

3:39 p.m. A man was arrested on a warrant in the 500 block of East Montezuma Avenue.

9:12 p.m. A driver who was exiting a parking lot in the 400 block of West Main Street was arrested on a warrant and cited for driving with a revoked license, driving the wrong way on a divided highway and failing to present proof of insurance.

9:19 p.m. A woman who had parked her car at the Speedway station at 921 E. Main St. was arrested on suspicion of DUI and operating an uninsured vehicle.

Tuesday, Aug. 31

8:29 a.m. A man was arrested on a warrant after a report of a public disturbance in the 500 block of South Madison Street.

8:48 a.m. A male driver was cited for an unsafe lane change after his vehicle hit another vehicle in the 2200 block of East Main Street.

11:12 a.m. A bicycle was found in the 1500 block of South Oak Street and taken into police custody.

12:13 p.m. A purse containing a reported $2,000 and a visa was reported stolen from a vehicle parked at Tequila’s Restaurant at 1740 E. Main St. Video surveillance recorded a man dressed in a T-shirt, shorts and sandals. In another video, a similarly dressed man was shown in the restaurant after attempting to use a declined Discover card.

5:53 p.m. A man staying at The Bridge Shelter, 735 N. Park St., was held at the Montezuma County Detention Center on suspicion of theft after a purse containing credit cards was taken at the shelter.

7:14 p.m. A man was cited for careless driving after his truck hit the awning at the Best Western hotel, 535 E. Main St.

Wednesday, Sept. 1

8:08 a.m. A man was cited for following too closely after his vehicle rear-ended another vehicle in the 1100 blocl of East Empire Street, at the intersection with North Mildred Road.

9:30 a.m. An intoxicated man was arrested after allegedly stealing a 12-pack of beer from City Market, 508 E. Main St., and violating a protection order for possessing alcohol. He was medically cleared at Southest Memorial Hospital, then jailed.

10:01 a.m. A woman was arrested on two warrants after a disturbance in the 600 block of Baker Avenue.

10:13 a.m. A man in the 600 block of East Second Avenue reported that a case of fraud, stating that someone had opened a DirectTV account in his name in Sacramento, California.

11:19 a.m. A man was charged with careless driving causing injury after his vehicle collided with a female pedestrian at East Main and Beech streets. The woman was hospitalized with hip and head injuries.

11:43 a.m. An officer reported a collision of two vehicles at West Main and Chestnut streets, but because of an improperly functioning stoplight, could not find fault with either driver. Dispatch agreed to contact the Colorado Department of Transportation about the light.

11:56 p.m. A woman reported that a man threw a rock through a window in her home in the 100 block of North Elm Street. She took photos as he fled on a bike, and gave them to an officer.

12:16 p.m. A woman reported that two Apple Corp. phone cards purchased from the Family Dollar store, 324 South Broadway, had already been used at the time of purchase. Family Dollar advised the woman’s son to seek a remedy from Apple.

2:49 p.m. A woman wanted for questioning in San Juan County, Utah, was trespassed from Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., and arrested on two warrants from Utah.

5:43 p.m. A man reported a stolen bicycle in the 100 block of North Ash St.

Thursday, Sept. 2

3:58 a.m. The theft of a $3,000 bicycle was reported at Kokopelli Bike and Board, 130 W. Main St., after an alarm alerted police to a broken window.

10:26 a.m. A handgun was found in a Piñon Project vehicle, 210 E. Main St., and placed into police custody.

3:11 p.m. A man who had been trespassed from the Dollar Tree store, 215 S. Sligo St., was cited for trespass.

5 p.m. A man was cited for lying intoxicated in the road at East Main Street and North Mildred Road, then jailed.
