At the request of dispatch, an officer returned a woman’s phone call in reference to her ex-boyfriend possibly at her residence, intoxicated, harassing her by phone. Upon contacting the woman by phone she stated that she was at work when her ex-boyfriend called and was possibly at her residence and if so she wants him to leave. A check through dispatch showed the man to have an active warrant. The woman said she was leaving work to see if the man was in her house and wanted the officer to respond with her. The officer located the man in the far bedroom placed him into custody and advised him of his warrant.
Tuesday, Nov. 5
An officer was advised that two males were sitting in a van and were acting suspicious. The officer was asked to go to the location. Upon arrival the officer observed another officer with two males. One of the men was down on his knees with his hands on his head and the other male began walking away from the scene. The man went from a walk to a run, and the officer started chasing him. While the officer was chasing him, he saw the man throw something and then began to slow down. The officer caught up to the man and arrested him and placed him into the back of a patrol vehicle. Two other officers arrived and searched for whatever was thrown. The officer went to identify the man that was arrested and could smell an unknown alcohol beverage coming from his breath. Dispatch advised the officer that the man was on pretrial release with alcohol provisions. The other officers were able to locate a baggie with a white crystal substance in it lying on the ground in the grass just north of the path Rose had run through. The man was charged with obstruction and violation of bail bond conditions and also for possession of a controlled substance schedule ll. At the jail the man blew a .143 and was placed in felony investigation hold for unlawful possession of a controlled substance. The officer used a NIK drug identification kit to test the crystal substance in the baggie. The presumptive test showed a positive result for methamphetamine and weighed approximately .2 grams.
Tuesday, Nov.5
An officer was traveling southbound on South Linden Street when he observed a vehicle he recognized from previous traffic contacts. The officer remembered contacting the vehicle a few weeks prior and giving the driver a warning for window tint and a cracked windshield. The vehicle still had dark tinted windows and three large cracks across the windshield. The officer contacted the driver and told him the reason for stopping him. The driver of the car explained that it was not his vehicle. When the driver told the officer his name the officer recognized his name and believed he had an active warrant as well as a revoked driver’s license. A check through dispatch confirmed that the man did have a warrant and a revoked license. The man was arrested for driving a vehicle while license revoked as a habitual traffic offender.
Wednesday, Nov. 6
Police reported to The Ute Mountain Casino in reference to a man causing a disturbance. Upon arrival the man was sitting in a chair visibly intoxicated and was yelling profanities at the officers. The man’s speech was slurred and his eyes were bloodshot and watery. A housekeeper told police that the man had been intoxicated all day. She said she went to clean his room because it was passed check out time and found his backpack and took it to the front of the motel. The woman said on her way to the front of the motel the man saw her with his backpack, became angry and jerked his backpack out of her hands. The woman tried to explain to the man that she was cleaning the room but he continued to yell and at one point took his belt and wrapped it around his hand. The woman said when he did that it scared her and disturbed her peace so she was willing to press charges. Medics arrived because the man had a large bump on the back of his head and said he was beat up by a “young punk”. When police arrived at the ER the man was still yelling profanities and told an officer he was going to tear him up. The officer arrested the man for disturbing the peace.
