Wednesday, June 17
5:33 a.m. A Cannondale Scalple bicycle was stolen from the bike rack of a vehicle at Best Western Hotel, 535 E. Main St. The bike lock was cut. There were no suspects.
12:48 p.m. A man was cited on suspicion of shoplifting and issued a trespass notice at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St. Surveillance footage showed the man take a six-pack of beer out of the store, past all points of sale without paying.
8:02 p.m. A man was cited on suspicion of burglary and theft at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St. An employee observed the man put a bottle of Listerine down his pants.
11:43 p.m. A woman was cited on suspicion of displaying fictitious license plates and tags and operating a vehicle without a valid license in the 800 block of East Main Street. The female passenger was also served proof of service for an active warrant. The vehicle was towed.
Thursday, June 18
4:03 a.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault and domestic violence in the 800 block of South Chestnut Street. The man had been drinking and dropped the couple’s infant. An argument broke out and, when the women tried to leave, the man pulled her back into the apartment. When police arrived, the man appeared to be intoxicated and the woman had multiple injuries to her face. The man had injuries to his finger as well as blood smeared across his hand.
11:52 a.m. A man was cited for trespassing at City Market, 508 E. Main St. The man had previously been trespassed from the store.
1:45 p.m. A man was cited for trespassing at City Market, 508 E. Main St. An employee witnessed the man put a bottle of mouthwash in his jacket pocket, but it was not found during a search of the man. The man had previously been trespassed from the store.
Friday, June 19
11:39 a.m. A counterfeit bill was reported in the 600 block of South Broadway. The woman found the bill on the ground and attempted to use it at a store, but the store attendant marked it with a counterfeit pen and said it was not real. The woman turned the bill over to the officer.
1:12 p.m. A woman was reported missing in the 1300 block of Mesa Verde Street. The woman’s mother made the report after being unable to contact her daughter since June 9. The daughter sounded angry and distressed during their last conversation. The woman’s phone number was no longer valid. A witness reported he had seen her in Durango, but did not know her current whereabouts. An attempt-to-locate notice was put out for the woman’s car and she was listed as a missing person.
6:10 p.m. A hit-an-run crash was reported in the 1500 block of East Main Street. A woman reported a white Ford Focus hit her car, causing an estimated $1,200 worth of damage to the passenger side. Surveillance footage did not show the vehicle’s license plate clearly. There were no suspects.
Saturday, June 20
12:43 a.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of DUI in the 10 block of South Ash Street. An officer initiated a traffic stop for a vehicle traveling 50 mph in a 25 mph zone. The driver appeared to be intoxicated and could not satisfactorily perform roadside maneuvers. An open container of alcohol was found in the vehicle. A breath test provided a result above the legal limit.
11:19 p.m. A man was cited on suspicion of trespassing in the 900 block of East Main Street.
Sunday, June 21
12:41 p.m. A hit-and-run crash was reported in the 400 block of South Broadway. A white semitrailer swerved in front of the hit vehicle, and the trailer struck the right side of the vehicle. Prior to the collision, the truck driver allegedly had honked at the other driver and flipped him off.
1:30 p.m. Two men were cited on suspicion of littering at Veterans Park. The men were intoxicated and had empty beer cans and food wrappers around them. They refused to clean up the litter.
3:21 p.m. A man was cited on suspicion of destroying private property and disturbing the peace and was issued a trespass notice in the 1500 block of South Broadway. Video footage showed the man throwing objects at the business’s door and trying to pry it open. The man said he needed to use the bathroom and was trying to get into the office.
3:26 p.m. A man was cited on suspicion of shoplifting and was issued a three-month trespass notice at City Market, 508 E. Main St. The man took a package of popcorn chicken and an energy drink and left the store without paying.
6:25 p.m. A man was cited on suspicion of DUI, DUI per se and careless driving in the 500 block of North Elm Street. Another driver observed the vehicle swerving, reported it to the police, then followed the vehicle to where it parked, possibly hitting another vehicle as it was parking. The driver failed to satisfactorily perform roadside maneuvers and a breath test provided a result above the legal limit.
Monday, June 22
2:06 p.m. A man was cited on suspicion of criminal mischief in the 400 block of West Main Street. Video surveillance showed two men and one woman brushing their teeth and then writing on the wall of a business. One suspect was known to the officer and located, but he would not reveal who his accomplices were.
2:30 p.m. A man was cited on suspicion of careless driving in the Walmart parking lot, 1835 E. Main St. The driver was attempting to make a turn on to the service road and did not see the other vehicle. He struck the vehicle, causing moderate damage.
3 p.m. A man was arrested for a felony warrant for sexual assault on and child and a state warrant for sexual assault in the 300 block of South Madison Street. He was transported to the jail.
9:39 p.m. A man was cited on suspicion of violating a protection order in the 200 block of East Seventh Street. The man got into a verbal altercation with a woman then physically attacked her boyfriend. The couple were able to retrain the man and call the police. The man appeared to be intoxicated, despite a protection order against consuming or possessing alcohol.
10:45 p.m. A man was cited on suspicion of harassment and domestic violence in the 1400 block of North Mildred Road. After becoming argumentative, a man put his forearm against his girlfriend’s throat and pinned her against a washing machine so she couldn’t breathe. She was holding their infant at the time. Two children observed the event and two older children heard sounds of the struggle.
Tuesday, June 23
11:57 p.m. A man was arrested for active warrants in the 300 block of East Main Street. Two men were reported to be smashing watermelons at City Market. One suspect was located and dispatch confirmed he had two active warrants. City Market did not pursue charges for the smashed watermelons due to surveillance not capturing the incident.
