Tuesday, June 18

12:43 p.m. A man suspected of violating a protection order in the 200 block of Ash Street was advised to stay away from his wife and children, but he was not cited because he said he had not been near his family and his clothing did not match the description the officer had received.

2:43 p.m. An officer arrested a man on a parole hold in the 1200 block of Dolores Road. The man was left in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center.

3:16 p.m. An officer cited a man for reckless driving for spinning his tires in the parking lot of the Department of Motor Vehicles, in the 2200 block of E. Main Avenue.

4:36 p.m. A woman was arrested on several warrants at the Dollar Tree store, 1600 E. Main St., and left at the Montezuma County Detention Center.

5:02 p.m. A man was escorted from Parque de Vida, 440 N. Roger Smith Ave., after he was found drinking vodka in a sleeping bag.

11:58 p.m. An officer observed a driver in a Chevy pickup fail to use a turn signal in the 300 block of South Maple St., and arrested the passenger on a warrant. The passenger left at the Montezuma County Detention Center.

Wednesday, June 19

1:42 p.m. An officer was assisting other officers on a report of a stolen bicycle in the 7000 block of U.S. Highway 160 when he located a bicycle. The bicycle did not match the description of the stolen bike, but it was taken to Cortez Police Department and placed in evidence as found property.

2:29 p.m. A man in a Budget rental truck said a white pickup with a horse trailer hit and broke his mirror in the 10 block of Main Street as traffic merged. The pickup driver did not stop. The officer took photos of the vehicle for evidence.

3 p.m. An officer saw two vehicles touch when one vehicle attempted to pass the other in the 500 block of E. Second St. The driver’s side mirror on one vehicle broke off. A woman was cited for failing to drive in a designated lane.

Thursday, June 20

2:26 p.m. An officer was called to the 200 block of Sligo Street. He took information from the two drivers about a minor accident in a parking lot.

4:24 p.m. An officer was dispatched to the Colorado Welcome Center, 928 E. Main St., about an intoxicated person. The officer found an unresponsive man on a bench and arrested him on an outstanding warrant. The man was medically cleared, then jailed at the Montezuma County Detention Center.

11:02 p.m. An officer was called to the Handy Mart, 806 S. Broadway, about the use of counterfeit money. The officer determined a $20 bill was counterfeit and took it as evidence.

Friday, June 21

1:59 p.m. An officer was called to Angel’s End Zone, 309 S. Broadway, about a family disturbance. A man was arrested for disturbing the peace after police arrived to find several people yelling at one another in a parking lot. A breath analysis at Montezuma County Detention Center showed a blood-alcohol content of 0.286. The man was left in custody of the jail.

2:18 p.m. An officer arrested a woman on a warrant in the 500 block of Madison Street and left her in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.

Saturday, June 22

1:15 a.m. An officer observed a Kia speeding in the 100 block of North Broadway. After being pulled over, the female driver failed to complete a roadside sobriety check. She was issued a summons for driving with a revoked license and released to the custody of another woman.

1:58 a.m. An officer was called to the 1100 block of East Empire Street about an attempted vehicle theft. A man and a woman were arrested for criminal felony trespassing and left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.

11:03 a.m. An officer was in the initial block of Ash Street when he was informed by another officer that a man riding a bicycle had an active warrant. The man was arrested and left in the custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.

11:23 a.m. An officer on patrol in City Park arrested a man for having an open container of alcohol. The man was left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.

5:31 p.m. An officer at Family Dollar, 324 S. Broadway, arrested a man with a warrant for assault. The man was arrested and left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.

8:43 p.m. An officer was called to Lotsa Pasta about a man who would not leave. The suspect was arrested for violating a protection order that he should not possess alcohol. The man was left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.

Sunday, June 23

12:26 a.m. An officer arrested a man in the 10 block of N. Broadway for DUI and driving with a suspended license and cited him for speeding. The man was released to the custody of another man.

10:09 a.m. An officer was called to the Montezuma County shop about a suspicious person. A man was arrested on two outstanding warrants and left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.

2:34 p.m. An patrol officer in the 500 block of North Mildred Street arrested a woman on a felony warrant and left her at the Montezuma County Detention Center.

Monday, June 24

4:26 p.m. An officer was dispatched to the 400 block of Silgo Street on a vandalism call.

Tuesday, June 25

1:32 a.m. An officer in the 100 block of Silgo Street arrested a man with an active warrant and left him in the custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center.
