Sunday, Jan. 21

1:54 a.m.: A woman was arrested at Giant Gas Station, 2021 E. Main St., on a warrant for failure to appear on a local misdemeanor case after police responded to a report that she was taking items from the store. She was cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital.

Monday, Jan. 22

11:09 a.m.: A man and a woman were arrested at KFC, 2222 E. Main St., after police responded to a report of menacing. A restaurant employee claimed the man had shown him a knife and threatened to beat him over a child custody dispute. He also said the woman, against whom he had a protection order, had entered the store with him. The man was arrested on a Montrose County felony warrant and on suspicion of felony menacing, and the woman was arrested on suspicion of a civil protection order violation. During the booking process, he reportedly banged his head against the jail walls and showed symptoms of possible drug intoxication. He was cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital after complaining of chest pain.

11:24 a.m.: A man was arrested at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., on a warrant for failure to appear on a misdemeanor charge.

4:46 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 400 block of South Elm Street on a warrant for failure to appear on a local misdemeanor charge.

10:12 p.m.: A man was arrested at City Market, 508 E. Main St., on suspicion of five bond condition violations after employees reported he was intoxicated near the pay phones. He took a portable breath test at the jail, but his alcohol level was reportedly too high for the equipment to read. He was cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital.

Tuesday, Jan. 23

1:04 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 700 block of South Ash Street on a warrant for failure to appear on a local misdemeanor charge.

10:08 a.m.: A woman was issued a summons in the 200 block of East Second Street on suspicion of third-degree assault and harassment after her mother claimed she had hit her in the head with a cell phone, causing a bruise.

1:44 p.m.: A man was arrested at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., on a warrant for failure to appear on a local misdemeanor.

6:08 p.m.: A woman turned herself in at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., and was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on a local misdemeanor charge.

Wednesday, Jan. 24

8:29 a.m.: A man was arrested at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., on two warrants for failure to appear on local misdemeanor charges.

3:46 p.m.: A man was arrested at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., on a warrant for failure to appear on a misdemeanor charge.

5:22 p.m.: A man was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear at the emergency room of Southwest Memorial Hospital, 1311 N. Mildred Road, after police transported him there for treatment of a suspected drug overdose.

Thursday, Jan. 25

10:41 a.m.: Police responded to a report of shoplifting at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St. Store employees reported a woman and two men had stolen three cases of beer, a case of energy drinks, a DVD and a Blu Ray player. Officers identified the suspects based on surveillance video, but were unable to contact them. The case remains under investigation.

10:56 a.m.: Police responded to a report of graffiti near the east entrance of Hawkins Preserve, 1500 S. Cedar St. A city employee reported that someone had sprayed blue paint on the sidewalk, causing $250 in damage. Officers reported the graffiti resembled graffiti around the city, but they did not identify any leads. The case remains under investigation.
