Wednesday, Dec. 28

9:20 p.m. A man who reported the theft of his clothes, shoes, wallet and cell phone at the Days Inn, 2604 E. Main St., was arrested on a warrant.

11:41 p.m. A man was arrested outside Southwest Memorial Hospital on suspicion of disorderly conduct after he allegedly threw at his parents’ car and attempted to drive off with it.

Thursday, Dec. 29

1:53 a.m. A man was cited for DUI, DUI per se and driving a defective vehicle at N. Mildred Road and E. Empire Street.

10:47 a.m. A man reported the theft of 50 sheets of siding worth $1,000 and two refrigerators worth $100 each from Colorado Mobile Estates.

5:23 p.m. A woman in the 300 block of South Broadway reported that a neighbor’s dog had bitten her daughter. The neighbor agreed to pay medical expenses. No charges were filed.

Friday, Dec. 30

2:59 a.m. A man was arrested on a felony warrant at the Aneth Lodge, 645 E. Main St., and cited for criminal mischief after he allegedly broke a window valued at $125.

10:11 a.m. A man was arrested on a felony warrant at the Chevron station, 717 S. Broadway.

12:10 p.m. A man was arrested on a misdemeanor warrant in Parque de Vida, and another man was cited for possessing alcohol.

4 p.m. A man was arrested in the 300 block of S. Madison Street on suspicion of DUI, DUI per se, failing to stop at a stop sign, driving with a window obstruction and possessing an open container of alcohol.

4:27 p.m. A woman reported a stolen license plate at the Vista Grande Inn, 680 E. Hospital Drive.

5:21 p.m. A man was arrested in the 500 block of E. Second Street on suspicion of harassment and domestic violence after allegedly hitting his wife and fought with his father-in-law. He was treated for minor injuries and intoxication at Southwest Memorial Hospital and then jailed. A woman was also arrested on a misdemeanor warrant.

6:13 p.m. A man was arrested in the 600 block of Wyoming Street on suspicion of harassment and domestic violence after allegedly throwing furniture and holding his wife down by the neck.

7:54 p.m. An officer responding to a barking-dog complaint took the dog to the Cortez Animal Shelter after finding the dog without water and food in the 1000 block of S. Chestnut Street. He plans to issue a summons if he finds the dog’s owner.

Saturday, Dec. 31

2:03 a.m. A woman was arrested in the 2200 block of Hawkins Street on suspicion of DUI after driving from the scene where her husband had been arrested for DUI.

1:30 p.m. A man was cited on suspicion of shoplifting and interfering with an officer after he allegedly stole two packs of cigarettes and a pack of condoms from Handy Mart on 806 S. Broadway, then led police officers on a foot chase through Hawkins Preserve and along McElmo Creek.

1:35 p.m. An employee at the Giant store on 2021 E. Main St. reported the theft of a cookies, candy and a muffin.

3 p.m. A woman reported that a duffel bag worth $30, two lottery tickets worth $15 and about $3 in change had been stolen from her vehicle.

4:30 p.m. A woman was arrested in the 10 block of S. Linden Street on suspicion of DUI, DUI per se and failing to obey a stop sign.

6:15 p.m. A man reported that three men had broken his vehicle’s rear window, valued at $300 to $800, in the 10 block of E. Fifth Street.

9:53 p.m. A woman was arrested near South Broadway and W. Seventh Street on suspicion of DUI, DUI per se, two counts of child restraint violation, child abuse, failure to observe traffic control devices and driving without a valid license after a collision with an SUV. She allegedly had two unrestrained children in her car, including a 5-week-old baby who was in her lap when the collision occurred. The children were taken to Southwest Memorial Hospital, but no injuries were reported.

11:27 p.m. A man was arrested near S. Market Street and E. Third Street on suspicion of DUI and careless driving.

Sunday, Jan. 1

2:29 a.m. A woman was arrested in the 10 block of Sligo Street on suspicion of DUI and driving with a canceled license.

12:04 p.m. Two people reported the theft of two iPhones and an iPad Air, worth between $600 and $650 each, from a vehicle parked at the Giant gas station at 2021 E. Main St.

4:22 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of DUI, DUI per se, child abuse, failing to drive in a single lane and failing to signal as required after he was pulled over in the 500 block of S. Madison Street with an unrestrained child in the back seat.

4:25 p.m. A man was arrested in the 900 block of S. Oak Street on suspicion of DUI and speeding.

6:30 p.m. A man was arrested on a warrant at the Montezuma County jail, 730 E. Driscoll St.

11:08 p.m. A man reported a vehicle break-in in the 500 block of Elm Street, then said he had found the missing welding mask, coveralls, coat, welding bibs and welding rod in an alley near his house. His spare tire key was still missing.

Monday, Jan. 2

12:06 a.m. A man reported a vehicle break-in in the 500 block of Geralds Way and the theft of a cell phone charger worth $20, 20 country music CDs worth $25, and $5 in change.

12:20 p.m. A man was arrested in the 10 block of N. Park Street on suspicion of disturbing the peace and possessing alcohol after he allegedly urinated outside the park bathrooms.

1:05 p.m. A man reported that his vehicle’s side window, valued at $200, was broken in the 1000 block of S. Cedar Street.

4:40 p.m. Two people were arrested on misdemeanor warrants in the 1300 block of E. Empire Street.

Tuesday, Jan. 3

8:40 a.m. A man reported that a church vehicle’s window had been broken at the Seventh Day Adventists Church, 540 W. Fourth St.

10:34 a.m. A man was arrested on a warrant for a misdemeanor in the 200 block of W. Main Street.

12:37 p.m. A man reported an that several windows of a home and the windshield of a pickup truck had been broken in the 500 block of S. Market Street.
