1:22 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 500 block of East First Street on a warrant for failure to comply on a local misdemeanor and on suspicion of violating a protection order.
4:53 p.m.: A woman reported an incident of criminal mischief in the parking lot of the Montezuma-Cortez High School, 418 S. Sligo St. The locking mechanism on her car had gone missing, but police concluded by looking at video surveillance that it had not been removed at the high school. The case remains under investigation.
7:28 p.m.: A man was issued a summons in the 10 block of South Chestnut Street on suspicion of an open container violation.
Friday, May 19
10:23 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 500 block of South Madison Street on suspicion of third-degree assault and domestic violence after his girlfriend claimed he had hit her in the head multiple times. She was treated at Southwest Memorial Hospital for swelling and bruising on her head.
12:34 p.m.: A woman reported a possible case of criminal mischief at McDonald’s, 1322 E. Main St. She said her rear tail light had been broken, and she believed someone else had broken it intentionally. The case remains under investigation.
12:38 p.m.: A man was served with three warrants at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., after being transferred there from La Plata County.
12:44 p.m.: A woman was arrested in the 300 block of South Broadway on a warrant for failure to appear on a local felony, and on suspicion of possessing a weapon as a previous offender.
9:22 p.m.: A man and a woman were issued summonses on suspicion of shoplifting at Wal-Mart, 1835 E. Main St. Store employees claimed they had stolen $274.53 of merchandise.
Saturday, May 20
2:12 a.m.: A man was issued a summons in the 10 block of South Beech Street on suspicion of DUI, DUI per se and making a left turn from the wrong lane.
3:24 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 200 block of South Elm Street on a warrant for failure to appear on an out-of-county misdemeanor after police responded to a report of a fight in the area.
3:34 p.m.: A woman was issued a summons in City Park, 802 E. Main St., on suspicion of an open container violation and possession of alcohol in the park.
Sunday, May 21
12:01 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 900 block of East Main Street on a warrant for failure to appear on a local misdemeanor charge after the vehicle in which he was a passenger was pulled over for expired plates.
Monday, May 22
10:45 a.m.: A woman was issued a citation in the 1500 block of Mesa Verde Street on suspicion of failing to register her three dogs with the city. A neighbor reported the dogs had been in her backyard and caused a disturbance with her own dogs, but the neighbor did not want to press charges.
11:35 a.m.: A man reported his mountain bike, valued at $560, had been stolen sometime in the past three weeks.
4:02 p.m.: A man was issued a summons on suspicion of shoplifting at Wal-Mart, 1835 E. Main St. Store employees said he had stolen Lysol, dish soap, laundry detergent, fabric sheets, cat food, licorice, paper towels and three packages of soft drinks, valued at $93.70 total. The man said he was shoplifting to provide for his family.
4:37 p.m.: A woman was arrested in the 1300 block of East Main Street on four warrants issued by Cortez Municipal Court, Montezuma District Court and Alamosa Combined Courts, and on suspicion of driving under restraint.
Wednesday, May 24
9:02 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 2200 block of East Main Street on a warrant for failure to appear on a local misdemeanor.
3:11 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 28000 block of U.S. Highway 160 on a warrant for failure to appear on a local felony.
5:20 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 900 block of East Main Street on four misdemeanor warrants issued by La Plata Combined Courts and Montezuma County Court.
10:53 p.m.: A woman was arrested in the 600 block of South Washington Street on a warrant for failure to appear on a local misdemeanor charge.
