Wednesday, July 19

10:31 a.m.: A man turned himself in at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., and was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on a local misdemeanor charge.

4:16 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 400 block of North State Street on a warrant for failure to comply on an out-of-county misdemeanor charge, and a woman was arrested on suspicion of driving under restraint and operating an uninsured vehicle.

6:44 p.m.: A man was served with a warrant for failure to appear on a local misdemeanor charge at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

8:23 p.m.: A man was arrested in City Park, 802 E. Main St., on a warrant for failure to comply on a local misdemeanor charge.

9:33 p.m.: A woman was issued a summons in the 600 block of South Washington Street on suspicion of harassment and domestic violence after her husband claimed she had hit him repeatedly, bit him on the wrist, hit him with a glass picture frame and kicked him in the groin multiple times before he knocked her down by grabbing her leg. The woman complained of hip pain, so she was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital. Responding officers decided not to arrest her because she was reportedly breast-feeding a newborn baby. She was served with an emergency protection order instead.

Thursday, July 20

11:26 a.m.: A man was arrested at Montezuma County Court, 601 N. Mildred Road, on a warrant for failure to appear on a local felony charge.

12:46 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 200 block of South Madison Street on a warrant for failure to appear on a local felony charge.

5:36 p.m.: A woman was issued a summons on suspicion of shoplifting at City Market, 508 E. Main St. Store employees claimed she had stolen a cheesecake and several packages of string cheese. Responding officers let her keep the stolen items, which were found in her purse, because she “appeared to be undernourished.”

6:09 p.m.: Police responded to a report of criminal mischief at Lonnie’s Glass, 448 W. Main St. A manager claimed someone had thrown a rock through one of the store windows, causing about $500 in damage. The case remains under investigation.

6:31 p.m.: A man and a female juvenile were issued summonses on suspicion of shoplifting and trespassing, respectively, at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St. Store employees claimed the man had stolen a pair of sandals.

Friday, July 21

10:27 a.m.: Police responded to a report of a vehicle break-in in the 500 block of West Seventh Street. A woman said someone had taken her wallet, which contained her driver’s license and $92 in cash, from her vehicle the night before. There was no sign of forced entry on the vehicle. The woman said she believed someone had been inside her grandmother’s car as well, but nothing was missing. The case remains under investigation.

10:48 a.m.: A man was served with a warrant for failure to appear on a local misdemeanor charge at Montezuma County Court, 601 N. Mildred Road.

11:10 a.m.: Police responded to a report of a vehicle break-in in the 500 block of West Sixth Street. A man claimed someone had stolen two bags valued at $3 total and a wedding ring from his two vehicles, one of which was locked. The case remains under investigation.
