Wednesday, Aug. 2

12:45 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 900 block of South Broadway on suspicion of being intoxicated in a roadway.

8:41 a.m.: A woman turned herself in at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., and was arrested on a warrant for assault.

8:56 a.m.: Police responded to a report of graffiti vandalism in the 20 block of South Washington Street. A business owner reported a few businesses in the area had been tagged with bright orange graffiti spelling “7th St.” and a few profanities. The case remains under investigation.

9:43 a.m.: A man was arrested at Montezuma County Court, 601 N. Mildred St., on two warrants for failure to appear on local misdemeanor charges.

10:03 a.m.: Police responded to a report of a stolen bicycle in the 500 block of East Montezuma Avenue. A man claimed his BMX bike, valued at $450, had gone missing after another man visited his house earlier in the day. The case remains under investigation.

3:57 p.m.: Police responded to a report of theft in the 10 block of East 13th Street. A man reported a large camouflage bag had been stolen from his vehicle sometime between July 10 and 31. He said the bag contained a GPS, a first aid kit, bandages, fire kits, blankets, flashlights and a uniform, valued at about $3,000 total. The case remains under investigation.

4:51 p.m.: Police responded to a report of found property at Montezuma County Court, 601 N. Mildred Road. A wallet containing identification that matched an Arizona resident was found at the courthouse. Police contacted relatives of the suspected owner and put the wallet into evidence for safekeeping.

Thursday, Aug. 3

2:10 p.m.: A woman was arrested at Montezuma County Court, 601 N. Mildred Road, on a warrant for failure to appear on a local misdemeanor charge.

2:30 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 1800 block of East Main Street on two La Plata County warrants for failure to appear on misdemeanor charges after police responded to reports of an unconscious man lying in an alley. The suspect was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital before being taken to jail, due to severe intoxication and abrasions on his arms, legs and head that appeared to have been caused by a fall.

3 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 400 block of South Maple Street on a warrant for failure to comply on a local felony charge.

5:57 p.m.: A man turned himself in at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., and was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on a local misdemeanor charge.

10:09 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 400 block of North Chestnut Street on suspicion of criminal mischief and domestic violence. His ex-girlfriend claimed he had damaged her front door by punching it repeatedly when she told him to leave her residence.

10:55 p.m.: A man was arrested on suspicion of trespassing and shoplifting at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St. Store employees claimed he had ripped open the package for a PlayStation remote control, valued at $29.88, and stuffed the remote down his shirt before leaving the store. The man had previously been trespassed from Walmart.

11:53 p.m.: Police responded to a report of criminal mischief at Holiday Inn, 2121 E. Main St. A man claimed someone had used a key to carve an offensive word on the sides of his girlfriend’s vehicle, which was parked near the motel. The case remains under investigation.

Friday, Aug. 4

2:09 a.m.: Police responded to a report of a missing person in the 600 block of East Third Street. A woman reported she had not been able to determine the whereabouts of her adult daughter, who lives in that area, since she was last seen there on Aug. 2. The case remains under investigation.

11:47 a.m.: A man was arrested at Montezuma County Court, 601 N. Mildred Road, on a warrant for failure to appear on a local misdemeanor.

2:09 p.m.: A man was arrested at Montezuma County Court, 601 N. Mildred Road, on a warrant for failure to appear on a local felony charge.

3:43 p.m.: A woman was arrested at Compliance Drug and Alcohol Testing, 1011 N. Mildred Road, on a La Plata County warrant for failure to appear.

8:06 p.m.: A man was issued a summons on suspicion of shoplifting at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St. Store employees claimed he had tried to steal a pair of headphones valued at $9.88.

9:14 p.m.: A man was arrested in the parking lot of City Market, 508 E. Main St., on suspicion of possessing a Schedule I controlled substance and drug paraphernalia after he was pulled over for driving with a defective headlight and expired registration. A syringe and a small bag of heroin were found in his pockets.

Saturday, Aug. 5

2:04 a.m.: A man was issued a summons on suspicion of DUI in the 1 block of South Washington Street after he was pulled over for failing to stop when required at an intersection, weaving and failing to signal properly before turning. He reportedly said he had been drinking at Blondie’s Trophy Room, and was unable to provide proof of insurance for his vehicle.

10:02 a.m.: A man was arrested outside Cozy Inn, 440 S. Broadway, on two warrants for failure to appear on a local felony and a local misdemeanor.

10:28 a.m.: Police responded to a report of criminal mischief in the 10 block of West 13th Street. A woman claimed the tires on her daughter’s vehicle had been punctured, causing about $250 in damage. She said she suspected her juvenile son, so police contacted him, but he reportedly denied damaging the tires. He was not charged with the crime. The case remains under investigation.

11:56 a.m.: A man was arrested in the City Market parking lot, 508 E. Main St., on two warrants for failure to appear on local misdemeanor charges. He was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital due to severe intoxication.

11:23 p.m.: A man was issued a summons on suspicion of trespassing and shoplifting at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St. Store employees claimed he had tried to steal two movies, valued at $64.92, and a pack of cigarette lighters valued at $4.13.

11:54 p.m.: A man was issued a summons on suspicion of DUI, DUI per se, driving without insurance and weaving in the 300 block of West Main Street after he reportedly crossed the center line of the road, forcing a police patrol vehicle in the other lane onto the shoulder.
