Sunday, July 16

2:48 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 100 block of North Adams Street on suspicion of false imprisonment, obstructing government operations and domestic violence after a child reported her parents were fighting. A woman claimed her boyfriend had physically restrained her in their bedroom and then in the bathroom, not allowing her to leave until he heard police sirens. When officers arrived on the scene, the suspect was reportedly fleeing the house. One officer claimed he ran straight toward him, disregarding orders to stop, leading the officer to use his stun gun on him. No serious injuries were reported.

2:42 p.m.: A woman was issued a summons on suspicion of shoplifting at City Market, 508 E. Main St. Employees claimed she had reached into several containers at the salad bar and eaten food without paying, and that she had stolen a macaroni salad valued at $5.99.

5:11 p.m.: Police responded to a report of trespassing at Southwest Memorial Hospital, 1311 N. Mildred Road. Hospital staff reported an emergency room patient had aggressively grabbed a staff member by his shirt, refused all medical help, refused to sign a refusal form and was refusing to leave the building. Police escorted her out of the building to be picked up by her husband but allowed her to keep her hospital gown, which she reportedly refused to take off. The woman reportedly threatened to sue the responding police officers.

7:34 p.m.: A woman was arrested at City Market, 508 E. Main St., on suspicion of shoplifting. Store employees claimed she had tried to steal a shopping cart full of food, flowers, beauty products, cleaning supplies and socks, valued at $408.90 total. After being arrested, she reportedly slipped one of her hands out of the handcuffs and removed her pants. She reportedly apologized and said she was dealing with some difficult personal issues.

8:16 p.m.: Police responded to a report of theft in the 400 block of South Valley Road. A woman claimed her son’s iPad had been stolen from her unlocked vehicle sometime between 8 a.m. the previous day and 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Monday, July 17

10:49 a.m.: A woman was arrested at Southwest Memorial Hospital, 1311 N. Mildred Road, on suspicion of trespassing. Hospital staff reported that she had entered the emergency room complaining of mental health issues, but when mental health staff said she would not be admitted to a facility, she refused to leave the hospital. The woman reportedly said she would rather go to jail than go home.

4:14 p.m.: A woman was arrested in the 200 block of Piñon Drive on a warrant for failure to appear on a local misdemeanor charge.

7 p.m.: Police responded to a report of criminal mischief in the 500 block of South Madison Street. A woman claimed someone had sprayed graffiti on buildings on her property, causing about $100 worth of damage.

8:07 p.m.: A woman was issued a summons on suspicion of shoplifting at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St. Store employees said she had tried to steal diapers, laundry detergent, pajamas and pants, worth $32.39 total.

Tuesday, July 18

1:13 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 800 block of Brookside Drive on suspicion of third-degree assault, criminal mischief and domestic violence. A woman claimed her boyfriend had thrown a marijuana pipe at her twice, held her by her neck against a wall and tried to hit her, leading her to hit him with a lamp and kick him in the stomach. She said this was the latest in an ongoing pattern of abuse.

11:38 a.m.: A man was arrested outside Dolores State Bank, 744 E. Main St., on a warrant for failure to comply on a local misdemeanor charge.

2:19 p.m.: A man was cited for a dog at large violation outside Montezuma County Court, 601 N. Mildred Road. He was reportedly playing “fetch” with a dog outside the courthouse in violation of the rules, and when an officer approached him, he reportedly swore at him and told him to give him a ticket.

2:34 p.m.: A woman was arrested at Montezuma County Court, 601 N. Mildred Road, on two warrants for failure to appear on local misdemeanor charges.

3:31 p.m.: A woman was arrested in Centennial Park, 800 E. Montezuma Ave., on three warrants for failure to appear on local misdemeanor charges.

6:42 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 400 block of South Cedar Street on suspicion of felony menacing after witnesses reported he had threatened several people in a residence with a sword after becoming angry about the King Kong movie that was playing on TV.

7:01 p.m.: A man was arrested outside Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., on two warrants for failure to comply on local misdemeanor charges.
