9:24 a.m.: A man was arrested at Montezuma County Court, 601 N. Mildred Road, on a warrant for failure to appear.
4:58 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 20 block of North Park Street on suspicion of third-degree assault after witnesses reported he had kicked a man in the face repeatedly.
7:44 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 10 block of West Third Street on suspicion of third-degree assault and menacing after another man reported he had approached his house and threatened to kill his whole family. When police went to the man’s house, they found all the outdoor water spigots turned on and pouring into an access door for the basement, which appeared to be flooded. Police found the suspect in a nearby field, where he reportedly claimed he had to “fight his way past the Nazis.” Police transported him to Southwest Memorial Hospital for a medical clearance, but while they were there, he reportedly spat on both arresting officers repeatedly and tried to run away.
9:52 p.m.: Three men were arrested at the Centennial Park tennis courts, 802 E. Main St., after police responded to a report of a fight there. Two other men were transported to Southwest Memorial Hospital with severe injuries, including a broken nose, and one of the suspects was medically cleared at the hospital due to severe intoxication. One man was arrested on suspicion of possession of alcohol in the park and an open container violation, another on suspicion of second-degree assault and a protection order violation, and the third on suspicion of second-degree assault.
Thursday, July 6
9:30 a.m.: A man was arrested at Montezuma County Court, 601 N. Mildred Road, on a warrant for failure to comply on a local misdemeanor charge.
12:25 p.m.: A man was arrested at Montezuma County Court, 601 N. Mildred Road, on a warrant for failure to appear on a local felony charge.
3:54 p.m.: Police responded to a report of theft at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St. Store employees claimed a former employee had taken a wrist support bandage without paying and a man who was with her had returned it for $9.17. Police identified the suspects with security video and requested warrants for both of them.
5:41 p.m.: A woman was arrested in the Walmart parking lot, 1835 E. Main St., on a warrant for failure to appear on a local misdemeanor.
Friday, July 7
6:30 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 1300 block of Balsam Street on suspicion of harassment and domestic violence after his wife reported he had grabbed her by the wrist, pushed her against a wall and held her down on the floor.
7:05 a.m.: A man turned himself in at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., and was arrested on a warrant for failure to comply on a felony charge.
7 p.m.: A man was arrested in the parking lot of Liquid Assets, 718 E. Main St., on suspicion of violating a protection order after store employees reported he was lying down near their fence. He was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital before being taken to jail due to severe intoxication.
10:06 p.m.: A man was arrested at Southwest Memorial Hospital, 1311 N. Mildred Road, on a warrant for failure to appear on a local misdemeanor charge. He was being treated at the hospital for a head injury after a fight in which witnesses said someone hit him in the head with a skateboard. Police were unsuccessful in finding the person with the skateboard.
Saturday, July 8
3:05 p.m.: A woman was issued a summons on suspicion of shoplifting at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St. Store employees claimed she had taken several food items, which the suspect reportedly said were for “a picnic.”
11:45 p.m.: A woman was issued a summons in the 700 block of South Madison Street on suspicion of DUI after she was pulled over for failing to stop at a stop sign.
Sunday, July 9
10:48 a.m.: A woman was arrested in the 600 block of North Elm Street on suspicion of harassment and domestic violence after her husband claimed she had hit him several times when he tried to stop her from driving away with their infant son. The woman claimed the husband had taken her cell phone and was yelling at her all day. When police arrived, the woman was reportedly talking on her husband’s cell phone. When she was arrested, a sheriff’s deputy requested that she be kept away from the jail’s general population because she was a deputy’s daughter.
2:11 p.m.: A woman was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., and on a warrant for a previous shoplifting offense. Store employees claimed she had tried to steal camping and cooking equipment worth a total of $510.44. The woman reportedly claimed her sister in Arizona had told her to do it.
4:37 p.m.: A man was issued a summons on suspicion of shoplifting and trespassing at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St. Store employees claimed he had tried to steal a cell phone valued at $59.
7:38 p.m.: A woman was issued a summons in City Park, 802 E. Main St., on suspicion of violating a protection order. She was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital due to severe intoxication.
Monday, July 10
7:16 p.m.: Police responded to a report of a disturbance at Giant gas station, 921 E. Main St. Witnesses claimed a man had walked into the convenience store at the gas station, yelled profanities at another man and poured a fountain drink all over a store employee when she asked him to leave. The man had left before police arrived, and could not be identified from security footage. The case remains under investigation.
7:49 p.m.: A man and a woman were arrested in the 20 block of North Washington Street after a woman claimed they and another woman were trespassing on her property. The man, who had been told to stay away from the property in the past, was arrested on suspicion of trespassing. The woman was arrested on suspicion of a restraining order violation. Both were medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital before being taken to jail, due to severe intoxication.
9:12 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 500 block of West Sixth Street on a warrant for failure to appear on a local felony charge.
10:50 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 800 block of East Main Street on suspicion of being intoxicated in the roadway. He reportedly made several suicidal statements while being booked at the jail.
Tuesday, July 11
12:30 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 10000 block of North Mildred Road on suspicion of being intoxicated in the roadway after a woman reported she had seen him lying in the road and had to swerve to avoid hitting him.
11:23 a.m.: A man was served with a warrant for failure to appear on a local misdemeanor charge at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.
7:13 p.m.: A man was arrested in the Walmart parking lot, 1835 E. Main St., on two warrants for failure to appear on local misdemeanor charges.
