Plewe signs with Weber State golf team

‘It’s always been a dream of mine’, M-CHS senior says
Kiselya Plewe signs to play golf for Weber State University. Athletic director Stacey Hall, principal Jason Waymon and Coach Jeff Carr join the Plewe family, Thayer, Monica, Todd, Kiselya, Dimery and Cruzito for the signing.

On Friday, Montezuma-Cortez senior Kiselya Plewe signed a letter of intent to play golf for Weber State University.

“It’s always been a dream of mine,” Plewe said. “I’ve always wanted to play Division 1 golf. It was always my goal.”

Plewe first visited the school in Ogden, Utah, last year, and although she had interest in a few other schools, she eventually decided on Weber State.

“The girls and the coach at this school are awesome, and I really like the environment there, and I love the town it’s in,” she said. “It was just the perfect fit for me.”

Before she heads out to college in the fall of 2016, Plewe has one final season of high school golf with the Dolores golf team.

And after finishing 11th, tied for sixth and fourth in the past three state tournaments, she wants to go out on top.

“I want to win state,” she said. “I’ve been trying to for the past couple of years now, and I’ve been really close. But I just need to put two good rounds together and finish that one.”

Kiselya is the daughter of Todd and Monica Plewe.
